Feeding The Little Precious Souls Part 2/Second Monthly Children's Feeding at Colonia

“If I could relive my life, I would devote my entire ministry to reaching children for God!” — Dwight L. Moody, evangelist

A month ago, I wrote a blog about our first Monthly Children's Feeding in Clavera where we served chicken porridge to the children. It was a monthly Church Ministry we have, an addition to every Saturday extension Bible Class where children are taught about God's Word.

I had said before that we were planning to serve spaghetti the next feeding but it ended with "Pancit Bihon" and sliced bread. It is because this time God touched the hearts of His people and I was so happy to know that they are willing to help in preparing the food for the children. Two of our Churchmates pledged to prepare a "Pancit Bihon" and the others were to buy the sliced bread needed. This time would be more enjoyable doing this ministry for more brethren were involved.

The place where we were going to have the feeding for this month was Colonia, one of the small barangays in Tabogon, and one of our Extension Bible Class areas. Same as the first feeding, we went there after the Bible Class. Some of our Church families were already there waiting for us and of course the excited little souls.

We waited for the food because they were still cooking when we arrived. While waiting, some of the kids were playing, some were just sitting and chatting each other. We told the children to get plates and spoons from their houses since I forgot to bring the Church's plates.

After 15 minutes, our brethren who cooked the food arrived with the hot yummy "Pancit Bihon". We got hungry also because of the very tempting smell of it.

We bought eight loaves of sliced bread.

Newly cooked 3 kilos "Pancit Bihon". The aroma was irresistible.

"Pancit Bihon" is one of the traditional Filipino noodle dishes. It is also commonly served during feedings and gatherings. We Filipinos usually eat it with rice just like any other noodles.

A Prayer for the Food

My husband led the children to prayer, thanking God for providing the food and all the things we need. He then shared a simple lesson for the kids to remember and let the children prepare their plates and spoons after.

Raise the hands of those who are hungry. I was raising my hand also at that time because the smell of the food made me hungry. 😂

Raised your plate.

The children excitingly raised their hands with the plate showing that they were ready.

We let the children fall in line so that distributing the food will be in order. Each kid with two sliced of bread and an ample of the "Pancit Bihon". Everybody helped in conducting the Feeding.

After receiving their food, the kids find a place where they can eat their food.

One of the ministries of our Lord Jesus Christ, while He was here on earth, was feeding the people. It was a great privilege God has given to us to do such ministry. Just like the little lad who had fish and loaves of bread, our food may not seem much, but God uses ordinary things for extraordinary purposes.

After we were done distributing the food to all the kids, we also had our time to eat. Feeding the hungry adults 😂. It was almost 11am so we were already very hungry at that time.

It was another rewarding and successful day indeed. Glory to God for providing all the needs and for all the kind-hearted people who helped.
