Visit Wat Sukawas and religious ceremonies in the ancient tradition of northern Thailand.

Hello everyone.

How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. In this post, I take everyone to see the atmosphere in the ancient tradition of northern Thailand (Lanna tradition) at Wat Sukawas. This tradition is the slakkapat tradition. Slakkapat tradition is an ancient northern tradition in the past, Which inherit northern thai traditions and support buddhism until now. The slakkapat tradition in northern Thailand has started this year. My wife and I went to this traditional event at Wat Sukawas, Chai Prakan District this morning.
Wat Sukawas is in a district near our district. And this temple is about 13 kilometers from our house. Today my district and nearby districts were affected by yesterday's storm. Make it rain all day. The atmosphere on the road today is sometimes It's drizzling and sometimes It's pouring. The journey was therefore quite difficult and wet.

Wat Sukawas is an old common temple that is more than 100 years old. This temple was allowed to be established as a temple in AD 1902 or 122 years ago. And the temple just received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree in AD 1969.

Outside the temple there are shops that are open and selling only on this day and tradition.

Because the rain makes people keep on coming but not too much so yet. This year, mat offerings were made to the temple too. Inside the temple courtyard, so there are many hanging mats. Additionally, there were other things in a plastic box on a chair to be offered to the temple too.

Some people perform religious ceremonies in the buddha image hall (viharn) with the monks. There are give the offering dedicated to the monks and money tree to support and restore temple. Prayb and worship buddha images and monks.
The inside of this buddha image hall (viharn) is decorated with beautiful patterns and paintings. The main buddha image and the other buddha images on the foundation are also very beautiful.

Inside the temple, there are also almshouses for giving out to people in this traditional ceremonies.
