Hi everyone, meet me again @harisfaris who will show and tell you a little about ornamental plants. This time the plant I want to show you is Ochna serrulata as it is called in Latin. On an international scale this plant is known as the Mickey Mouse flower. In Indonesia, the name for this plant is different, this is due to the many local languages, but on a national scale this plant is also known as Mickey mouse flower.
This plant is an ornamental plant, although at first glance it looks fruitful but the fruit cannot be eaten, besides that the flowers and fruit look beautiful and are more suitable for ornamental plants. Ochna serrulata can grow up to 2 meters, its growth is upwards and many branches. The roots are single and slightly creeping to the side, the stems are brown and the leaves are green. Ochna serrulata flowers are dark red while the fruit is black, but this condition is only found in the ripe fruit while the young fruit is light green.
At first this plant came from the land of Africa which then spread throughout the world. In Indonesia, this plant is found in many areas of West Java, but even though this plant can also be found in other areas. Like my current position, I got this plant in the yard of my rented neighbor's house and my current position is in Maguwoharjo, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Therefore, if you want to grow this plant, that's fine, because the average soil conditions in Indonesia are suitable for growing this plant.
