The new old style Yap Hup Kee 叶合记

In line with the community latest trend, i would like to introduce you one of the less popular but definitely local restaurant, strategically located at Pudu area. @king-cobra if you're still here, do take note and worst visit.

Wan tan mee also known as one ton noodle, is not the heaviest noodle. Wan Tan in cantonese meaning mixed meat dumpling. I didn't come here for the dumpling, but the noodle! Reason being, the minced meat and dark sauce mixed with the stretchy egg noodle, is exceptionally good.

Ok i didn't eat that noodle. I knew its good, but off late my appetite was screwed up. I dont take that much of meat lately. I ordered it for my junior subordinates. The kid is a bulldozer, just like the younger version Dave, therefore i know what he wants 🤣 i got myself a bowl of curry flat rice noodle with fried onions. Extremely satisfying.

The shop is known for stuffed tofu, they also offer a huge variety of crazy food, including squid. We shared 1 whole squid, and it goes quite well with the sweet and sour sauce.

This is another bowl of noodle, they call it mouse tail noodle. There's no mouse here. The traditional recipe kf making fat and baby mouse shape rice noodle for the reason of its easy to swallow. The dry noodle came with a patch of minced meat, same like the wan tan noodle, its very filling and easy to go down.

Pardon on my shakey cam, my junior also ordered a bowl of stuffed tofu, mixed with stuffed chili pepper, and the slices of brown color thing are actually pig skin. These kinda stuff used to be my favorite 🤤

I got myself some fried bean curds, vege rolls, and also some flat bean paste. The darker color nuggets are combination of small turnip cubes and mixture of potato flour. I'm quite sure i tasted fish in the paste, avoid this if youre a vegetarian cow.

The gang also ordered a huge sharing plate of fried stuffed tofu. The dark brown color on the right is pig intestine wrap. What does it wrap? Well, they use the big intestine to wrapped the small intestine several folds. Marinate it in sweet soy sauce and barbeque it until it caramelized. I couldn't resist the temptation and took a piece of it, it does taste as expected, but that's all for me.

More fried tofu, meatball, fishcakes to share with the gang. The piece of half moon shaped at the bottom of the photo is a fried eggplant. That is my all time favorite. Be extremely careful though, as eggplant itself keeps a lot of heat due to its skin structure. Try not to stuff the whole piece in your mouth, or you're risk burning your mouth and the rest of the meal you'll be suffering.

Try to arrive here 10 minutes before 12, so you get a nice place to sit. There's a hidden shop lot 2 doors down the street, is an indoor seating area, air conditioned. If you're not sure, ask the staff to show you the way. No extra charge, why suffer with other people as you know Malaysia is known with its tropical humid and heat.
