Un saludo amoroso para todos mis amigos de hive, este sábado maravilloso estoy encantada de participar en el Concurso: El Emprendedor que Hay en Mi. Esta es una bella oportunidad para reencontrarme con esa inquieta emprendedora que me habita, ya que desde muy joven he desarrollado pequeños emprendimientos que me han enriquecido grandemente en distintas dimensiones.
Desde mi pre adolescencia comencé a realizar pequeñas inversiones en golosinas, las compraba al mayor y las vendía a los estudiantes de mi colegio, desde ese momento tuve mi ahorro en una cuenta bancaria, la cual abrí desde los 9 años con autorización de mis padres, gracias a un programa que lanzo el banco en esa época para fomentar el ahorro desde la infancia.
Mientras mis ahorros crecían gracias a la venta de golosinas, me fui preparando en cursos de bisutería y pintura en tela, con estos nuevos conocimientos también realice y vendí pulseras, collares y zarcillos de todo tipo, así como franelas y manteles pintados a mano. Otros cursos que realice en mi adolescencia fueron los de repostería, puedo decir que la venta de postres ha sido una de los emprendimientos más significativos que he realizado.
Después de graduarme en la universidad, se me hizo muy difícil conseguir trabajo en lo que me gradué. Así que junto a una gran amiga empezamos a realizar y vender comida vegetariana por encargo. Esta fue una experiencia grandiosa, lo que frustro el negocio fue que la familia de mi amiga y la mía, sabotearon el proceso porque no querían que nos dedicáramos a eso, sino que consiguiéramos un trabajo en relación a nuestras carreras y en ese momento nos dejamos influenciar.
Así tengo varias experiencias más, en las que invertí tiempo y dinero en emprendimientos exitosos, con los que me mantuve durante momentos determinados de mi vida. El más reciente de ellos fue en el 2016, ese año fue bastante duro a nivel económico en mi país, Venezuela. Mi pareja no tenía trabajo y mi sueldo de empleada pública apenas alcanzaba para los gastos. Así que nos aventuramos en nuestro primer emprendimiento juntas, porque además teníamos poco tiempo de vivir en pareja.
Así nació nuestra venta de pound cake, la cual llamamos “Caseritos”. Esta fue una experiencia muy significativa para ambas, empezamos vendiendo todos los viernes en un espacio cultural de la ciudad llamado: Corredor Artesanal Don Chucho Corrales. Para ese momento vendíamos unos 15 pound cake en cada jornada. Cada viernes teníamos que hacer más pound cake, porque los compraban muy rápido y ya comenzábamos a tener nuestros clientes fijos. En pocas semanas ya estábamos vendiendo unos 250 pound cake cada viernes, además de los encargos que nos hacían para fiestas o escuelas, realizábamos 5 sabores: Vainilla, chocolate, pasas, zanahoria y parchita.
Esto ocurrió desde el año 2016 hasta el 2018, los dos años más duros a nivel económico en el país. Las devaluaciones de la moneda, la especulación en los precios de la materia prima, la escasez de algunos productos, nada de esto nos detuvo. Al ver que cada vez vendíamos más, nos animamos a organizar junto con otros artesanos, que compartían con nosotras en el espacio, un gran bazar llamado “Manos Creadoras”. Pues no fue uno solo, fueron varios, cada uno duraba entre 1 y 3 semanas, en las que llegamos a vender más de mil pound cake semanal.
Estos espacios fueron de mucha dicha, no solo el éxito en las ventas lo hacía maravilloso, también el compartir con los artesanos, el bienestar de estar haciendo todo aquello juntos, nos convertimos en una hermosa familia. Organizar el bazar al mismo tiempo que producíamos los pound cake no era fácil, pero fue una experiencia inolvidable, cada día en el bazar teníamos una presentación artística, ya fuera musical, teatral, o dancística. Cambiamos el mundo en un pequeño rinconcito de la selva de cemento en la que vivíamos. En el centro de San Cristóbal, a los pies del Centro Cívico, donde en el día transita la indigencia y la delincuencia, y durante las noches la prostitución y las drogas, nosotros creamos un espacio para el disfrute artístico y la economía artesanal.
La razón por la que este emprendimiento llego, tristemente para nosotras, a su fin. Fue que en el año 2018 comenzamos a tener muchos problemas familiares, problemas graves que terminaron en violencia física y denuncias a las autoridades para resguardar nuestras vidas. Este escenario me hizo atravesar una terrible depresión de la que he salido poco a poco, pero ha tomado su tiempo. La misma situación de violencia nos hizo mudarnos a un lugar muy alejado de donde antes ocurrió nuestro pequeño gran sueño.
Todo lo que paso no nos arrebató el deseo de, en algún momento, tener nuevamente nuestro sueño materializado. Pienso que solo nos tomamos un descanso para sanar y pronto renaceremos nuevamente y esta vez con más fuerza y ganas. Hay una emprendedora viviendo en mí. Espero esta anécdota sirva de inspiración para algunos, para que no se den por vencidos, porque la clave es la constancia y la organización. A loving greeting to all my hive friends, this wonderful Saturday I am delighted to participate in the contest: The Entrepreneur in Me. This is a beautiful opportunity to meet again with that restless entrepreneur that inhabits me, since I have developed small ventures that have greatly enriched me in different dimensions since I was very young.
Since my pre-adolescence I began to make small investments in sweets, I bought them wholesale and sold them to the students of my school, from that moment I had my savings in a bank account, which I opened since I was 9 years old with the authorization of my parents, thanks to a program that the bank launched at that time to encourage savings from childhood.
While my savings grew thanks to the sale of candy, I was preparing myself in courses of costume jewelry and fabric painting, with this new knowledge I also made and sold bracelets, necklaces and earrings of all kinds, as well as flannel and hand-painted tablecloths. Other courses I took in my adolescence were in baking, I can say that selling desserts has been one of the most significant ventures I have made.
After graduating from college, it became very difficult for me to get a job in what I graduated. So together with a great friend we started making and selling vegetarian food on demand. This was a great experience, what frustrated the business was that my friend's family and mine, sabotaged the process because they did not want us to dedicate ourselves to that, but to get a job related to our careers and at that time we let ourselves be influenced.
So I have several other experiences, where I invested time and money in successful ventures, which I stuck with during certain times in my life. The most recent of them was in 2016, that year was quite hard economically in my country, Venezuela. My partner was unemployed and my salary as a public employee was barely enough for expenses. So we ventured into our first venture together, because we also had little time to live as a couple.
Thus was born our pound cake sale, which we called "Caseritos". This was a very significant experience for both of us, we started selling every Friday in a cultural space in the city called: Corredor Artesanal Don Chucho Corrales. These spaces were of much happiness, not only the success in the sales made it wonderful, also the sharing with the artisans, the well-being of being doing everything together, we became a beautiful family. Organizing the bazaar at the same time we were producing the pound cakes was not easy, but it was an unforgettable experience, every day at the bazaar we had an artistic presentation, whether it was musical, theatrical or dance. We changed the world in a small corner of the concrete jungle in which we lived. In the center of San Cristóbal, at the foot of the Civic Center, where during the day there is poverty and delinquency, and during the night prostitution and drugs, we created a space for artistic enjoyment and artisan economy.
The reason why this venture came, sadly for us, to an end. It was that in 2018 we began to have many family problems, serious problems that ended in physical violence and complaints to the authorities to protect our lives. This scenario made me go through a terrible depression from which I have come out little by little, but it has taken its time. The same situation of violence made us move to a place far away from where our little big dream happened before.
Everything that happened did not take away our desire to, at some point, have our dream materialize again. I think we just took a break to heal and soon we will be reborn again and this time with more strength and desire. There is an entrepreneur living in me. I hope this anecdote serves as inspiration for some, so that they do not give up, because the key is perseverance and organization.
