We find ourselves in the uncomfortable position of being torn between opposing forces; casual reality & consensus reality.
The American lifestyle as defined by its Manifest Destiny narrative has descended to irrational exuberance, military expansionism and social disharmony. In stark contrast to its original socio-political structure of Universal Freedom, free-market consensus and rouged individualism.
The economic recession is stunningly obvious at this point, so much so that the definition itself was redefined by the White House. The malaise & decay in our post-modern society has progressed to such an extent that it is the most prominent thematic backdrop of pop-culture. The corruption of our leaders, our institutions and pop-icons is clear for us to see --yet it goes unchecked as it continues to fester.
As I outlined in my three-part series, the decline unfolds gradually through a multi generational descend from economic prosperity to record poverty. To recognize change is a difficulty when you are Being in time; the patterns may elude you but they directly affect your essence.
The dramatic shift from the ascension of civilization to its cyclical decline creates generational trauma which needs to be qualified beyond statistics, headlines and political rhetoric. To do otherwise limits our approach, and becomes politically convenient for demagogues that pay lip service to the zeitgeist.
As the facade of this brave new world crumbles it leaves humanity exposed to its own shadow.
The early millennial decades brought massive disruptive technology to the forefront of human consciousness. Our political leaders, public institutions and celebrities marketed the use of technocracy as a necessary measure to preserve liberty. The crucial component in convincing people to accept body scanners, militarized police and imperial wars depended on the manufacturer of existential dread.
In the early 2000's the State, public institution and the legal framework of society underwent a disruptive technotronic "upgrade." After 2010, came the popularization of smartphones, social media and the transformation of the economy. Masses of people adopted a new medium of social engagement which by its very implication exploited the human psyche, detached individuals and segmented a new political weapon.
Paralleling the rise of technocracy and the terror propaganda was the disruption of open-source & crowd funded tech companies. The centralized corporate structure bought out the competition, assimilated crowd-funded designs and re-purposed them with subscription-based models with hardwired backdoors & obsolescence. The nascent optimism inspired from the growing sophistication of information technology gradually dissipated as State-subsidized proprietary tech monopolized disruptive technology.
The Post-Truth World invites us to suspend our disbelief as a modern-day social ritual which exalts technocratic progress and dispels its tragic consequences.

While the trajectory of Orwellian tech took most people by surprise its lingering effects on society have been mostly ignored. The disruption of human relationships, business models and the subsequent takeover of society is quantified as progress, as "smart-tech," but rarely do we qualify the tragedy of technocracy.
Technocracy' consequences on human society are abstracted, diffused and contextualized by the Superclass, the managerial class and the socialites as necessary measures to save the planet. Meanwhile, they blame millennials for the "sluggish economy," the breakdown of relationships and the decline of work-ethic. The real source of society's malaise cannot be named --to do so will dispel the Modern Myth.
What will it mean to be Human in a Post-Human World?
We are yet again facing a consortium of celebrities, politicians and influencers' propagandizing a new social convention: bugs for lunch, no property rights and zero trust models under the measure of clock-work computation.
The 2030's "sustainable agenda" in essence is POST-HUMAN which mark the crucial fork in the road for humanity's evolution or involution. The technocrat's pet philosopher Yuval Harari talks of this schism as a foregone conclusion, as a launching pad which the Superclass will use to transform themselves into the gods of the bible.
The next phase of social conditioning needs to be approached with the wisdom earned from the previous decades. Intuitively we recognize our schizophrenic society, in hindsight we can abstract the trajectory of technocracy and with compassion we can breakthrough our conditioning.
A return to being human will manifest differently for the billions of people in this planet to suggest a framework or approach which outlines a panacea is intellectual hubris. Humanity's solutions lies dormant in the primordial essence of the unconscious, the truth is reflected in our stories and wisdom is emblazoned in the our body.
