It is not only about having a plant, it is about taking care of it, loving it and giving it the importance it deserves as that being that comes from mother earth and gives you its aroma, medicine, food, shade and stop counting. At home, even if they are small spaces, as in our house, we must have a decently organized and clean place where plants can grow without great difficulty. In my home we have only a plot of land about 10 meters long by 2 meters wide to arrange plants that require their roots to be in the ground, so this month I decided to start making shelves with pots and small plants that I can keep in that space.

Another reason for placing the plants there is that the iguanas during our Christmas trip had a feast with my oregano, basil, pepper, chili and even the pickles, nothing was spared and now I have to start all over again. To do this, I had shelves with strong wooden anchors or supports. This wood had been in the house for years, it came with it when I bought it and because of its shape and good work I assume that it was part of some big boxes where they brought tools for construction. Anyway, they are strong wood and with a little sandpaper and sealer they were as good as new.

The next step was to organize the remaining plants in the pots and to place others that could be there in harmony with the space. I really like the cultivation of plants that I use for cooking such as spices and some vegetables, because they fulfill a double function, firstly they brighten up and give vitality to the home and secondly they feed us. The care of our plants is vital is the way we treat them as they can grow and flourish.

Once the work of organizing the shelf was finished, I started to work on the big pots where I will place the plants and small trees, in this case, I sanded and applied sealant to the metal bases and renewed the soil with organic fertilizer, soil and backwater (according to the needs of each plant). All this work fills me with joy because it is a way to give back to nature all it does for us, I feel that as we manage to create more green areas we can see the change in the planet. Importancia del jardín en el hogar y su cuidado.
No se trata únicamente de tener una planta, se trata de cuidarla, amarla y darle la importancia que merece como ese ser que proviene de la madre tierra y te regala su aroma, medicina, alimento, sombra y pare usted de contar. En el hogar así sean pequeños espacios, como en nuestra casa, debemos tener un lugar dignamente organizado y limpio donde las plantas puedan crecer sin grandes dificultades. En mi hogar contamos con apenas un terreno de unos 10 metros de largo por 2 de ancho para disponer plantas que requieran que sus raíces estén en tierra, por ello, este mes decidí comenzar hacer repisas con materos y plantas pequeñas que pueda mantener en ese espacio.
Otra de las razones para ubicar allí las plantas es que las iguanas durante nuestro viaje de navidad se dieron un banquete con mis plantas de orégano, albahaca, pimento, ají y hasta los pepinillos nada se salvó y ahora me toca volver a comenzar. Para ello, dispuse de repisas con anclajes o sostén de madera fuerte. Esta madera llevaba años en la casa, venían con ella cuando la compre y por su forma y buen trabajo asumo que formaba parte de algunas grandes cajas donde traían herramientas para la construcción. En fin, son maderas fuertes y con un poco de lija y sellador quedaron como nuevas.
Lo siguiente fue organizar en los materos las plantas que quedaron e ir ubicando otras que puedan estar allí en armonía con el espacio. Me gusta mucho el cultivo de las plantas que me sirven para cocinar como las especies y algunas hortalizas, pues cumplen una doble función en primer lugar alegran y dan vitalidad al hogar y en segundo nos alimentan. El cuidado de nuestras plantas es vital es la forma en la que nosotros las tratamos como ellas podrán crecer y florecer.
Una vez terminado el trabajo de organizar la repisa, me dispuse a trabajar en los materos grandes donde ubicaré las plantas y árboles de pequeño tamaño, en este caso, volví a lijar y aplicar sellador a las bases de metal y renové la tierra con abono orgánico, tierra y remanso (según las necesidades de cada planta). Todo este trabajo, me llena de alegría porque es una forma de retribuir a la naturaleza todo lo que hace por nosotros, siento que a medida que logremos crear más áreas verdes podremos ver el cambio en el planeta.
