Hello Hive Family. How are you all?
I hope you all are healthy and happy.
October update
Friends, the month of October is coming to an end. Cold has knocked on the mountains. Due to cold, the leaves of apple and cherry trees in the gardens have started turning yellow and falling. Due to cold, the green grass on the mountains visible in front has started drying.
This morning I pluck apples from my garden. The name of this variety of apple which lasts till October end is Granny Smith. Among all the varieties, this apple is harvested last. It is green in appearance. It is completely ripe on the tree and is sweet and juicy to eat.
After plucking apples, I also pluck kidney beans. I had sown kidney beans in the month of May. Today I am doing the first harvesting of kidney beans. There is still time for some beans to be ready. I have sown vine kidney beans along with small apple trees so that the vine kidney beans get proper support.
Saunf plants are also planted along with kidney beans. It will take some time for the kidney beans to get ready.
After plucking kidney beans, I have planted amaranths (locally called baathu) and perilla frutescens (locally called bhangziri) in the adjacent bed.
After cutting the amaranths plant, I keep it in the courtyard to dry. As it dries, red seeds start falling from the plant.
I also cut perilla frutescens and keep it in the sun to dry. Its seeds are black in colour. They look like cannabis seeds.

I had planted bottle gourd in a tyre in the courtyard of my house. Despite being planted in the tyre, this bottle gourd vine grew well. We ate a lot of bottle gourd from it. This vine is drying up now.
I find these green leaves growing among the flowers in the courtyard delicious. We boil it and eat it.
I had also sown pumpkin. It is now ripe and ready. Pumpkin is a plant which does not require much effort and like every year, this year too the pumpkin crop has been good.
We do not use any kind of pesticide or fungicide in our orchards.
