Cherries Harvest and More 🍒🍒

Hello everyone!

If you want to take a look on how my garden looked like in 12th May, here it is.

But things look so different now, sometimes I have the impression I'm in someone else's garden haha.
Strawberries were in full blooming and the cherries were green and little.
In just 2 weeks both the cherries and strawberries were already ripe and ready to be eaten!
Yummy 🍓🍒

We had soooo sooo many cherries this year, from 2 cherry trees. We had people coming over to pick up directly from the tree and also I picked up a lot myself to bring those to friends I knew they were more than happy to get some.

But what I did with most of the cherries, besides of eating them raw, was to freeze them.

I have a Laica vacuum machine and it is more than helpful. You can see the big difference beetwen foods that are or aren't stored in the freezer in these special bags with no air in them. I use it for more than 3 years and if at first I had my doubts, now it's al clear.

With "a few" pictures I'll show you what I did with the cherries and in the end, I will share some more pictures with my garden at this moment, a month away from my last garden post.

As you can see, while picking up the cherries, we have had company! Can't happen without 'em! LOL

I've let my son picking up the cherries and eat all by himself. Ofc this happened, I had no doubts in being other way LOL.

All right, so after we picked up 2-3 buckets of cherries, I worked for one day only to send 'em to the freezer.
First, I washed them and then I took out their seeds. Pitted cherries are more easy to deal with after they're frozen. Basically you did all the rough job and when you need some cherries for a pie, smoothie or something, they're ready to be used.
I let some cherries unpitted in the end because I was just so tired and didnt want to let all the work 'till tomorrow.

Our cherries are a type of cherries that have no worms inside. They are big, fleshy, sweet and juicy. All in one.

Then I start the process of vaccum them into freezer bags and thats all with these delicious full of vitamin cherries.

AND I made a lot of this these lask weeks. This is a classic in Romania, Cherry or Sweet Cherry Sponge Cake. But ofc, I made it with cherries. I'll share the recipe in one of my next posts. Stay tune if you're interested! it goes away in minutes (or hours). 😁

Now the strawberries! Mind you that these photos are taken one week ago but didnt have the time to share em with you earlier. I love our strawberries. I received some from my neighbours but mine are much better. I guess its just the type. These are sweet and juicy, theirs were almost unflavored and the flesh was strange, like sandy or somehow 🤥

Strawberries were't so many so we ate them raw. My son loves urda (ricotta cheese) with honey and berries.

Ok here are some more photos from the garden, one month after my first garden post.

Yellow Beans Pods

All family loves yellow beans, especially my 3 yrs old. But he likes mostly how my mom makes it, like a stew or soup, not a side dish.

Well, pretty much this is it. This is what happens now in my garden.

All the fruits and legumes are bio, we don't use pesticides or insecticides. In this area of Romania, all veggies or fruits grow easily, especially if you water them.

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed seeing my garden, or at least a part of it. I forgot to photograph the potatoes! Oppsy!

Love, missdeli 😍
