On this Monday morning, as early as 5am, I got a call from my grandma; she asked me to clean up her garden. This eventually became the first activity for the week.
So, I went to her store and got a sharp matchet to help in the garden clearing. Before clearing the so-called weed, before now, my grandma usually used those leaves as condiments in cooking her soup. But her problem was that they outgrown till they turned out to be like weeds.
With this knowledge, I had to clear the surface instead of weeding them from its roots; by this, it was about 6.15am. After I had cleared the garden, I raked and gathered the plants. Thereafter, I carried the plants that seemed to be weeds and emptied them into my granny's plantain farm. In a way, the plant will serve as a manure and also help in mulching thereby reducing leaching and erosion.
Since this is a rainy season, we are hoping the leaves will grow soon so that she can be using them when she's cooking.
