New West – clump of tulips
I was in pretty bad shape on Monday when I got up. I didn’t have to get the amendment order in by 7AM because the store didn’t open until 8AM. But I did have to have it in by noon so my helper friend could pick it up.
So I sat down and sorted out the mess from last year and got the inventory straightened out. Then I got the order in for some of it.
New South – yellow tulips
I spent the rest of the day hunting for some of the other amendments online. I found them finally and got them ordered.
South – yellow and red tulips
It was a cold, windy, sunny day so I was just as glad to stay inside.
I hadn’t gone to exercise class but I did manage to attend this talk about wildlife in our town. She’s an amazing wildlife artist who works in wood, stone, and paper. Plus she does nature photography. It was fun hearing what other people had seen in town, and I had a few stories to tell also.

I worked some more on the orders and reached a point where I had to do inventory of stuff in the cellar. I couldn’t find the list we’d made 2 months ago of the peat pots.
So I stopped and got my supper of haddock started baking.
My brother came home and wanted to move 2 more bags of wood as my son had emptied the second one. So I went out to watch those front tires so they didn’t roll a bead.
The bags of wood are getting fewer, just 6 left to move now. We might just get the wood in during April!
South – red tulips and double daffodils
I thought we’d only be out there moving wood for 10 minutes or so, but it was more like ½ hour and the fish got well done. Oh, well, we ate it anyways.
I was in bed early as I was still in rough shape from the weekend.
On Tuesday I have to do all the stuff I never got done on Monday: start laundry, clean up the kitchen disaster (from stock making), move the seedlings back to the porch, tend all the starts from Monday a week ago, water them all, and finish the inventory and get the amendments ordered.
It’s to be a beautiful sunny day in the 60’s and I also hope to get out in the afternoon and get peas planted. And it would be cool if I got sweet peas planted under the trellis. But we will see how far I get.
