Part 1 - Coconut bonsai collection

Hello friends I love you so much!! Today I will share some pictures of coconut bonsai that I have cared for for a long time, I hope this is useful for all my friends

Making a bonsai from coconut fruit is not a difficult thing nor is it an easy thing either, everyone when they see a coconut bonsai will definitely be very interested in having it, but they don't know how complicated it is to take care of a coconut bonsai to make it look beautiful and become a professional bonsai in the field. the class itself, this time I will discuss how to care for coconut bonsai to make it look good.

Coconut bonsai has several models of how to plant it, this time I will show you some of the bonsai models that I have, how to care for them, how to deal with pests, which of course has the ups and downs of caring for coconut bonsai. I will discuss all according to my experience.

standing model

This bonsai is more or less 4 years old and has gone through many difficult times, a few weeks ago this bonsai was again faced with the difficult times it had experienced 2 years ago. This type of bonsai is not much liked by beginners and buyers. , but this form is very liked by collectors, why did that happen? Because they are aware that all coconut bonsai models, with so many models, in the end, all the shapes will be like this, 1 to 7 years old, the shape can still last according to our wishes, but after entering the age of 10, the shape will be like this, that's a factor nature and no one can fight against it. Unfortunately my bonsai is currently in a healing period after a few weeks ago it was attacked by swarms of pests that attack the roots so the effect is very clear on the slightly yellowed and dry leaves, ant pests that attack this part will be very dangerous for all types of plants if not take action as soon as possible, fortunately this pest I quickly found out and immediately I took action. The action that must be taken when attacked by ant pests is to replace the roots of the soil or planting medium, because the ants will make nests in the soil and eat all the roots that have just grown so that the growth of the bonsai is very disturbed, when I changed the soil I did not immediately replant it , I have to soak it for 2 minutes in the garlic soaking water, this is useful for growing new roots, in the new soil I also fill in some pieces of shallots so that the ants don't come back to make nests in this soil.

Hanging root conch bonsai

This hanging root snail bonsai is now more than 3 years old, this is a type of yellow ivory coconut, yellow ivory type coconut is a type of mini coconut, although not in this coconut bonsai it is smaller than the coconut we often see. The hanging root snail model is very much in demand compared to other models. Models like this are also one of the most difficult models to care for, the stem height is about 6 inches, this is why bonsai like this are difficult to care for so that they thrive. The first difficulty is when new roots grow, when new roots grow, if not handled immediately, the new roots will die or wither because all plant roots are looking for a suitable medium to absorb food, coconut trees themselves need soil media to absorb food. The second difficulty is that it is very difficult for a model like this to get new roots out because of its hanging position, if new roots don't come out, the tree will find it difficult to develop and even risk dying because there are no roots that work optimally to absorb food, to grow new roots in a bonsai model like this also not easy, here's a photo of how to grow new roots on a bonsai model like this:

We can see in the two photos above, this is a process we call root fishing, root fishing like this is something that must be done every 5 months on a bonsai model like this, this method is easy to do but complicated to do run. Here's how to do root fishing. We have to prepare a used cloth for us to wrap it on the bonsai stem, 3 to 5 layers of dressing is enough, one used bottle that we will use to collect water which is useful for wetting the cloth that we wrap on the bonsai tree trunk, must make sure the cloth is always wrapped wet so that new roots appear quickly, from the start of the dressing until new roots appear it usually takes approximately 2 weeks, 2 weeks is the fastest time if the dressing has never dried completely.

Bonsai model snail rice fields

This is almost the same as the hanging root snail model, the only difference is that the roots don't hang down. hanging, this is still in the process of growing roots and shrinking leaves, we can see in the second part of the photo where the leaves of my bonsai are very long and that is not good for coconut bonsai at this age.
So far this bonsai is thriving and I don't have much to do, I just need regular maintenance every 3 days, because the process of growing roots in a bonsai like this doesn't need help, like a hanging root bonsai that needs a fishing rod to get the roots out.

Bonsai model of floating stem snails

This bonsai is almost the same as the two above bonsai, the only difference is that this bonsai will not be as tall as the hanging root bonsai. This bonsai is still in the process of growing, and one of my bonsai which I still have a lot of homework to complete. Later, when this bonsai has become a model, this bonsai only hangs 1 inch from the ground. The unfinished homework for this bonsai is the part of growing roots and reducing leaves. I briefly discussed what might be a question in the hearts of all friends, namely the cut part of the bottle containing the soil at the end of the bonsai stem. This bottle is useful as a medium for new roots to come out, because basically the bonsai stems don't touch the ground, if I don't add soil on the sides like this then the new roots that appear will die because they don't touch the ground, a process like this takes 2 months, a process like this takes longer than the process of growing roots in hanging root bonsai.

I still have a lot to explain but I will continue that in part 2, if I continue in part 1 this post will be very long and I'm confused about discussing it all at onceπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
