Yes, it's for everyone! You don't need a balcony, you don't have to worry about insects, you only need 1-2 dollar to buy a Hyacinth bulb.
I grow hyacinths hydroponically almost every year. After my daughter was born, it becomes our classic. I even buy some spare bulbs to give away to my friends and my daughter's friends. At the end of the direct planting season, around November to December, Hyacinth bulbs go on sale and are available at very reasonable prices.
Yesterday, I bought the first pack for this season at a local grocery store. Three bulbs are inside and it was sold for 3 EUR.
I couldn't help waiting my daughter comes back from travel and started one.
I had a vase with an ideal shape but you can use any empty glass jar. I see kids are happy to see the roots so I recommend something transparent 😊
I did a Google image search to see how other people are growing Hyacinth hydroponically. As shown in the URL page below, you can lay a stone and place the bulb on it and water it. It is a good idea 📝 We don't need a jar in a particular size.

It will be quite cold, dark and rainy in Germany in late autumn to early winter. I look forward to add bright color with Hyacinth bulbs. I may buy one more pack somewhere to give away to friends.

昨日は友人宅でお鍋飲みを楽しんで久しぶりの3時帰宅・・・ということで短めの記事を。
誰にでもできる秋冬のガーデニングのアイディアです。バルコニー不要で、虫に悩まされることも多分ありません。費用は100円、200円ほどです。そんな夢のようなガーデニングのアイディアはというと、ヒヤシンスの水耕栽培です。
私はほぼ毎年、水耕栽培でヒヤシンスを育てています。子供が生まれてからは、家族の定番になりました。自分の友達や子供の友達に渡すために、多めに球根を買うことさえあります。地植えの時期の終わりには球根がセールになり、とてもお得に手に入るのです。
昨日、地元の雑貨屋さんで今シーズン最初のパックを買いました。中には3つの球根が入っていて、3ユーロ、一つ1ユーロ（160円ほど）です。
子供が旅行から帰ってくるのを待ちきれず、水耕栽培を始めてしまいました。何色の花が出てくるのだろう。白い球根が一つ、赤いものが二つ入っていたので、多分、濃いピンクか紫の花が咲くのかな。楽しみです。
私は理想的な形の花瓶をみつけてこれを使うことにしましたが、ジャムの瓶など、家にある空き瓶でOKです。一番上の写真はたしか子供の哺乳瓶だったような・・・。強いて言うと、透明な容器だと、根っこが見えて子供は喜ぶと思います 😊
みんなどうやって育てているのだろうと、Googleで画像検索してみました。下のURLのページのように、石を敷いて、その上に球根を置いて水をはるのもよいですね。

晩秋から初冬にかけて、ドイツはとても寒く、暗く、雨の日が多くなります。そんな中で、ヒヤシンスの球根は生活に明るい色を加えてくれます。大小いろいろなお友達たちに渡すために、もう1パックどこかで買おうかな。
