In this season I wake up around 5am with sun rise these days. I enjoy starting a day by doing yoga, observing plants and having a cup of coffee in the mini balcony garden in the silence.
Since I have a bit more time in the morning on Sundays, I practice taking photos with the new camera. Although I am still on my way becoming good friends with the camera, I improve my photo skills.
The lavender is the one I took back from the community garden. I bought a set of six lavender pots sold in a good price and planted in the containers of the community garden I maintain. It was my daughter's wish to have more flowering plants on the balcony. Yes, I tend to plant more edibles ... as a food fan 😅
Strawberry plants are getting really productive. We harvest one everyday in the last days. A lot more comes 🍓 Maybe my mother who passed away this spring sends them her power as strawberries are a memory and a connection between her and my daughter. I'm glad that I planted strawberry plants intensively this year ... around 50 strawberry plants including the community garden.
This week two new Japanese plants became members of the balcony garden. Mitsuba (the one in front) and Myoga (the tall one in the middle). Both are used like herbs. We eat leaves of Mitsuba and flower buds of Myoga. I like both but especially Myoga is must for summer. I'll show how it looks like and how it's used if it makes buds this year.
Even it's still before the summer solstice, I start preparing for autumn already. Kales and some perennials seeds were sown in pots. Time pasts so quick. We must enjoy every moment.
This year my daughter does her own things more on the balcony. Sometimes I see a trace of my daughter's work in the balcony and it makes me smile. One day I found the watering can family and our balcony shoes were neatly placed.
About the community garden, I made a separate post as it was a lot to write this week. It's almost done finally!

夏ですね！夏は日の出ともに毎朝5時ごろに起きて（動物なのかおばあちゃんなのか w）、朝の静寂の中ヨガをして、コーヒーをいれてバルコニーの植物を観察するのを楽しんでいます。日曜日は時間に余裕があるのと、Hive Blogにバルコニーの様子を投稿するのとでこのところはカメラも持ってバルコニーに出ます。
徐々にカメラとよいお友達になってきている気がします。
今年はコミュニティガーデンも入れると、なんとイチゴの苗を50株近く、もしくはもっと植えました。子供が私の母をいちごとつなげて覚えているのこともあり、亡くなった母の思い出としていっぱい植えたかったのです。ふと見るところころ赤いのができていて、母がパワーを送ってくれているようです 🍓
どんどん日が長くなって暖かくなって、豆やトマトが安定して育ちはじめて、これから夏！という感じですが、実はもう秋冬の準備も始めています。ケール類や多年草の種をまいたり、プランターの空きスペースでチャードを育て始めたり。毎年7月の終わりにばたばた始めて遅かった・・・と後悔するので今年はちょっと早めです。
そうそう、子供がバルコニーに一人で出てあれこれしています。自分で試行錯誤するのもいいかなと思い、口出しはしすぎずに見守っています。時々子供の作業の名残を見かけてふふふと思います。先日はじょうろと靴がきれいに並べてあって思わず写真を撮りました。
うちのバルコニーは相変わらずスローですが、コミュニティガーデンは今週ずいぶん作業が進みました。長くなりそうだったので、一つの投稿として書きました。よかったらこちらもどうぞ！
