Hello Hive community, today I will dedicate my first review to a video game that surely many will know, mostly because of how famous and old it is, but that does not stop it from being a fabulous and fun game, it is Super Mario Bros. a title that was programmed for the Famicom in Japan and then became known worldwide thanks to the NES.
With just a few minutes playing, the player can quickly become familiar with the mechanics of the game, since it is a 2D platformer, where we simply have to eliminate our opponents, run, jump, break blocks, among other things to achieve an objective, rescue the princess of the mushroom kingdom.
In this short but difficult path we will have the help of several powers that will allow us to increase our survival in the different worlds, among them we have the mushroom, which helps us to grow and resist an enemy attack, a flower that boosts our shield and allows us to resist two attacks and additionally gives us the power to shoot a fireball, eliminating enemies at long distance, and finally a star that gives us invulnerability to all enemies in the game for a short period.
We have different scenarios that allow us to see various parts of the mushroom kingdom, which I divided into 4 phases, land, water, sky and subway, by this I mean that the ecosystem of the levels is designed based on these 4 phases, so we will find levels in the clouds, others underground with several pipes, on land and the most tedious, the aquatic ones.
Every 3 levels we will find a castle, this would be the level boss, where we always give us to understand that here we will rescue the princess, but the truth is that in 7 of them Toad awaits us, a mushroom-shaped character which tells us that the princess is in another castle.
The last level is where we can save the princess, but first we must face one of the most iconic mazes of video games, which can make us lose many hours to decipher it, however, once we pass the right path we will face Bowser and rescue the precious princess.
In very specific parts we can find secret paths which will allow us to pass the game faster, these are known as warp zones, a couple of words that, over time, became very famous in video games, but one of the main ones that popularized this term was Super Mario Bros.
This game may be a little complicated at first because of its difficulty, but it was the essence of these games of yesteryear, because the space in the memories of the cartridges was very small, this made the developers create a level of difficulty a little high, so that the player had to repeat the same thing several times until he learned the different patterns and finish the game.
Despite the 36 years that Super Mario Bros has, it is still an excellent game, especially if you want to take the challenge of passing a video game of yesteryear, many old school players will remember it as one of the precursors of many titles for the future, personally I consider it in several aspects a fun and addictive title.
