Defeat in battle is not the end

This is a play through of Pokemon Blue by using RetroArch to emulate the game. I am randomising the Pokemon in areas with similar strength so it isn't completely randomised, while choosing three starters of similar types

A few more levels were achieved across a few of his Pokemon while a Clefairy was also caught, but that wasn't the exciting part that was coming out of today's adventure.. it was this battle he would face against his rival, Hive who was now a lot stronger!

First to step up to the front line of battle was a Nidorina at level eighteen, starting off strong was not boasting confidence in Goliath's chances of winning but he would be giving it a solid go at least.

As expected from this first battle with a tough Nidorina, it had gotten off a solid and very effective hit to almost defeat the Venonat and it was a tougher, closer battle, but ultimately the Nidorina was victorious in this fight.

Next up for Goliath was to use the trusty Draitini which would be enough to finish off the Nidorina but with some poison running through Dratini, this could be a problem if it keeps battling and taking that poison damage as well. At least with level fourteen it was etching closer, to being a strong force for any trainer.

Hive's next choice was his Eevee which is a good Pokemon to have, Squirtle was used only for tail whip to lower Eevee's defence ready. The level difference made it hard to get more than two or three in.

With Dratini healed up and able to paralyse this Eevee before using wrap multiple times, it was making this fight seemingly easier, or at least he thought it would be.. but even with a good tactic used like the defence lowering into the paralysing it ended up being good for taking it out with lower health still remaining for the next Pokemon brought out.

Keeping out Dratini is something he would be regretting due to that supersonic confusing Dratini with easy damage being output and making it faint, requiring a switch up of firstly being Grimer to start things off while adapting as best as possible, to try win this fight.

Shellder was now the last hope in this battle and the damage was almost enough to defeat this Zubat, Goliath tried so hard and got it so close but in tough trainer battles like this, you find yourself running out of usable Pokemon and this causes you to lose the battle, to realise the Pokemon you have will require some additional leveling before you attempt the fight and go for the win the second time.

Goliath headed into the grassy area back to the west to fight more wild Pokemon, to ensure these levels came in no time!

One fight was a Ditto and after weakening it while it turned into Shellder, enough health was gone and it was time to get this awesome little Pokemon caught, to see what the fuss was.. but Goliath wasn't going to end up using Ditto for some time yet.

After additional battles to get his Pokemon to higher levels, which took time, Goliath thought about if he was ready now or not.. a couple more levels for some, while others only got one level but with some pondering, it was decided he would head back to heal before having another shot of defeating Hive!

Emulator used: RetroArch with a Gameboy Colour core
ROMS: Pokemon Blue after being put through the randomiser
Saving: (Used for quick loading and for getting back to before I had all Pokemon faint, if I lose and so it is quicker.)
