I like racing games, from those that try to simulate real cars or motorcycles competing to games with a quite arcade concept, I like cars a lot and see them running through the streets at high speeds seems amazing to me, and it is much better if we compete against other cars to see who is better, in traditional racing games we only have to focus on driving well and get first to the finish line, but, there is a type of racing games that I love, because they are out of the traditional and seek to give another approach to racing, I mean games where you have to attack the other competitors to get first to the finish line.
Me gustan los juegos de carreras, desde los que intentan simular autos o motos reales compitiendo hasta los juegos con un concepto bastante árcade, me gustan muchos los autos y verlos correr por las calles a altas velocidades me parece increíble, y es mucho mejor si competimos contra otros autos para ver quien es mejor, en los juegos de carreras tradicionales solo tenemos que enfocarnos en conducir bien y llegar primero a la meta, pero, hay un tipo de juegos de carreras que me encantan, ya que se salen de lo tradicional y buscan darle otro enfoque a las carreras, me refiero a juegos en los que tienes que atacar a los otros competidores para llegar primero que ellos a la meta.

En algunas ocasiones no necesitas de armas para hacer pedazos el coche de tu rival y dejarlo fuera de la competición, en algunas ocasiones debes usar tu propio coche para sacar a los competidores de la carretera y hacer que choquen, a veces ni necesitas tener una conducción perfecta que te permita tomar curvas de manera perfecta, solo basta con ir a toda velocidad destruyendo a todos los que te encuentres en la pista, un ejemplo perfecto que define este concepto es Burnout, una franquicia muy conocida por tener este estilo de carreras, incluso en algunas ocasiones el mismo mapa intenta sacarte de la pista poniéndote curvas muy cerradas para que a los otros competidores les dé tiempo chocarte o simplemente poniendo montículos que hagan que tu coche dé un salto y te descontrole un poco el vehículo haciéndote que choques.

Amo los juegos que tengan mucha acción, y también me gustan los autos y las motos, y el hecho de que existan juegos que combinan la acción con autos me parece algo increíble, creo que todo esto comenzó hace muchos años, cuando jugué por primera vez un juego llamado Road Rash, para la Nintendo 64, era un juego de motos que utilizaba este concepto del que hablo, eran carreras de motos pero podías usar objetos como armas para golpear a los adversarios, desde ahí empecé a buscar más juegos que tuvieran un concepto similar y descubrí un mundo muy cool.
Este estilo de carreras me gusta más que el estilo tradicional, las carreras tradicionales en algunas ocasiones puede ser algo aburrida, a pesar de que hay momentos de mucha tensión e intensidad a veces quiero algo más de acción, llevarlo al siguiente nivel e incrementar la acción, hay otro modo de competir que también me gusta mucho, los derbys, en esta ocasión no se trata de llegar de un punto A hasta un punto B antes que los otros competidores, solo basta con destruir el vehículo de los demás competidores, en algunos de estos juegos solo usas tu coche para destruir a los otros, pero hay juegos en los que te dejan utilizar armas de todo tipo, juegos en los que te plantean en un mapa diseñado perfectamente para el combate en el que pelearás contra otros coches con un diseño único y con armas únicas, juegos como Vigilante 8 o Twisted Metal entran en esta categoría, son simplemente increíbles.

Y una de las razones por las que me gusta este estilo de carreras es porque la experiencia al jugar con amigos es mejor que con los juegos de carrera tradicional, he jugado a varios juegos de carreras con amigos pero ninguno nos ha divertido tanto como lo hacen los juegos con este concepto del que les vengo contando, creo que todo esto se debe a la formula arcade que la predomina, después de todo son juegos que evalúan factores que van más allá de simplemente saber conducir bien.
