I have talked about many mobile games recently and it is quite curious how (against all odds) the quality of these titles is generally good. There are some examples like PUBG Mobile or Fallout Shelter that are extremely ambitious and seek to break the limits of what playing on a smartphone means, while there are others like Temple Run or Angry Birds that definitely feel more comfortable with simpler formulas.
However, not everything is always so organic and in the middle of these two opposite poles we have a series of failed experiments that are worth mentioning only as an example of everything that a group of developers should not do: Thus we arrive at Gangster Vegas.
Presented as a mediocre clone of GTA (Emerging in the days where having the giants of Rockstar in the palm of our mobile devices was a novelty) Gangstar Vegas is an absolute scam that under a free facade hides nothing but lousy mechanics, a story withouts flavour and intrusive advertising.
Let's not be fooled by the decent screenshots that flood the Apple and Android app stores when we search for the game, GV is a walking testament to the sheer difficulty of creating an open world, with a visual adaptation of Vegas without any type of personality while having several far superior alternatives at our disposal, it has nothing interesting to offer.
The dialogues are excruciating, the handling is lousy, the controls of our character are clunky and the HUD is cluttered with superfluous information.
It is one of those video games that only worked 10 years ago, when any type of technical deployment was surprising and we did not have too many quality options that would allow us to be demanding, Gangstar Vegas embraces many ideas that are not consistent with each other and throws them at a wall with an absurd hope because they get stuck. I wish nostalgia could speak for me to lose objectivity and ignore all its flaws, but they are so numerous that it is impossible.

Existen algunos como PUBG Mobile o Fallout Shelter que resultan extremadamente ambiciosos y buscan romper con los limites de lo que jugar en un smartphone significa, mientras que existen otros como Temple Run o Angry Birds que definitivamente se sienten más cómodos con fórmulas más simples.
No obstante, no todo siempre es tan orgánico y es que en la mitad de estos dos polos opuestos tenemos una serie de experimentos fracasados que resultan dignos de mencionar solo como un ejemplo de todo lo que no debe hacer un grupo de desarrolladores: Así llegamos a Gangstar Vegas.
Presentado como un mediocre clon de GTA (Surgiendo en los tiempos dónde tener a los gigantes de Rockstar en la palma de nuestros dispositivos celulares era una novedad) Gangstar Vegas es una estafa absoluta que bajo una fachada gratuita no esconde más que pésimas mecánicas, una historia descafeinada y publicidad intrusiva.
No nos dejemos engañar por las decentes capturas de pantalla que inundan la app store de Apple y Android cuando buscamos el juego, GV es un testamento andante de la verdadera dificultad que implica crear un mundo abierto, con una adaptación visual de las Vegas sin ningún tipo de personalidad quebteniendo varias alternativas muy superiores a nuestra disposición, no tiene nada interesante que ofrecer.
Los diálogos son insoportables, el manejo es pésimo, los controles de nuestro personaje son toscos y la HUD se encuentra abarrotada de información superflua.
Es uno de esos videojuegos que solo funcionaban hace 10 años, cuando cualquier tipo de despliegue técnico sorprendía y no teníamos demasiadas opciones de calidad que nos permitieras ser exigentes, Gangstar Vegas abraza muchísimas ideas que no tienen coherencia entre si y las arroja a una pared con una esperanza absurda porque se queden pegadas. Quisiera que la nostalgia pudiese hablar por mi para perder la objetividad e ignorar todos sus defectos, pero son tan numerosos que resulta imposible.
