😊Hey Battle Mages!
Here's a warm welcome you to this week's battle mage secrets. We are down to 14 DAYS:16 HOURS to End to Season [EOS], I truly hope you are having fun and progressing through the leagues nicely.
This post is my continuous attempt to explain how I approach the various kinds of Splinterlands battle rulesets. I have so far shared my approach to Nineteenth (19) Rulesets, here's the last one on LOST LEGENDARIES and I have come to introduce you to another.
This is an interesting ruleset with a good number of conditional approaches. But, before I tell you all about it, there's plenty days left, so if you want to know other battle mages secrets and take part by sharing with us yours, simply visit 👉BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge!
Splinterlands seeks to sharpen player skills by allowing us explore various strategies via rulesets
. I have tried to study a few cards especially with the newly introduced rulesets, giving one more reasons to know what cards strongly suits them.
Before the start of any battle, each player is shown what ruleset is allowed in battle and it is extremely beneficial to read and strategize accordingly. The ruleset secret I will be sharing you to in this post is the LOST MAGIC
LOST MAGIC RULESET implies that Monsters with Magic attack may not be used in battles.
With this in mind;
Don't use Magic Reflect monsters or summoners (a^).
Focus on high speed and abilities like Flying, Dodge, Blind (b^).
Thorns and Shield are the key in this ruleset (c^).
😄I consider myself a magic mage, so what happens when magic attack monsters aren't allowed on the battlefield? Well worry not because I have the perfect battle to demonstrate this and a possible lineup that works for Mid-High mana battles.
📜LOST MAGIC & ARMORED UP DUEL: A DEEP DIVE INTO MY STRATEGIC LINEUP📜
RULE SET | |
---|---|
STANDARD | MODIFICATIONS TO THE RULES AND MECHANICS |
MANA CAPACITY | 60 |
AVAILABLE ELEMENT | only Life🌬, and Death☠️ elements allowed |
This was a High mana cap battle with the ARMORED UP
, HEALED OUT
and spotlight ruleset of the week LOST MAGIC
📌TIPS TO NOTE ABOUT THESE RULESETS:
Armored Up: Monster with existing armor benefit the most, as they can absorb more damage from attacks.
Healed Out: This means that any damage dealt to monsters is permanent for the duration of the battle. Monsters with the 'Heal' or 'Tank Heal' abilities will not be able to use these abilities.
Lost Magic: This greatly affects the strategy as magic attackers bypass armor and hit the health directly. With them out of the equation, physical attacks (melee, ranged) become predominant.
📜A TANGY PREBATTLE DESSERT📜
In a realm where magic was almost forgotten, whispers of the Forgotten Spell echoed. The great Splinterlands warriors must together face a summoner of great malice. As battle raged, these warriors faced their counterparts. A dark reflection, clashes and the need to outpace the enemy. Yet, when the enemy soared, Chanseus murmured the Forgotten Spell. Magic, once lost, blazed brilliantly, ensuring their victory and reminding the Splinterlands of the power of remembered magic.
😂 Weee! I will quickly introduce you to my fantastic Summoner and Monsters.
⚔️ TEAM LINE-UP & REASONS I ENGAGED THEM IN BATTLE ⚔️
🌬CHANSEUS THE GREAT - SUMMONER
An amazing summoner that offers all monsters the supernatural Repair ability
which restores some armor to the warrior whose armor has taken the most damage in battle. I then grant the Triage ability
which heals the backline warrior's health each round and finally the Resurrect ability
which will bring back to life one warrior when he dies.
CHANSEUS THE GREAT makes for an excellent choice as a summoner and synergizes beautifully with 'Armored Up' rule, offering even more protection.
⚔️FRONTLINER - ARKEMIS THE BEAR |
Serving as my primary tank, Arkemis boasts impressive health, a decent attack, and a Protect
which gives all team monsters +2 Armor, with the Halving
ability, each time this Monster hits an enemy, the enemy's attack is cut in half and Forcefield
ability takes only 1 damage from attacks with power 5+. This bear is not only tough to take down but retaliates when hit by melee monsters.
⚔️SECONDARY TANK - JUNKER |
With his armor and health combined, he makes for a sturdy tank. His Reach
allows him attack from the second position on the team, while his Repair
ability restores some armor to the team Monster whose armor has taken the most damage which will be especially useful in this battle.
⚔️MAIN ATTACKER - SAND WORM |
With its massive melee attack and the Sneak
ability, it targets the last Monster on the enemy Team instead of the first Monster and When attacking enemies with Flying, it's Snare
removes the Flying ability and cannot miss. Sand Worm can make short work of enemies that have less melee attack than him.
🌬AIR SUPPORT - WAR PEGASUS |
With its Flying
ability, the War Pegasus is an agile flyer that rains destruction on non-flying enemies and enemy's armor is totally destroyed when hit by an attack from Monsters with Shatter
ability.
🌬BACKLINE DEFENDER - SILVERSHIELD SHERIFF |
Positioned to defend against sneak attacks while offering team the Protect
which gives them all the +2 Armor. He has Pierce
ensuring it can chew through enemy armor efficiently. The Sheriff's high armor and retaliate ability can fend off many sneaky enemies.
🌬UTILITY - SHIELDBEARER |
With his Shield
ability Reducing damage from Melee and Ranged attacks and Taunt
allowing all enemy Monsters to target him if they are able to, the Shieldbearer provides both utility and another line of defense.
Without further ado, let us now enter the battleground and see if my lineup works or not.
⚔️ THE BATTLE ⚔️
- The Enemy came at me with the Death element, ENEMY SUMMONER - GRAND MASTER RATHE as Summoner. ENEMY-ARKEMIS THE BEAR in first position, ENEMY-CORSAIR BOSUN in second position, ENEMY-DRYBONE RAIDER in third position, ENEMY-DUMACKE EXILE in fourth position, ENEMY-SUPPLY RUNNER in fifth position, and finally ENEMY-WAR PEGASUS in last position. My enemy came at me with decent set of cards, so Let's see what happened.
LET'S RUMBLE!!!
My Summoner CHANSEUS THE GREAT - granted all team monsters the
Repair ability
,Triage ability
andResurrect ability
.Brutal assault from the enemy at my front liner ARKEMIS THE BEAR, he dies but soon resurrects with protected shields.
The JUNKER attacks and kills enemy's frontline.
SANDWORM targets and kills ENEMY-WAR PEGASUS.
ENEMY-DRYBONE RAIDER targets and kills my taunt monster SHIELDBEARER.
SILVERSHIELD SHERIFF targets and immediately kills ENEMY-DRYBONE RAIDER while ARKEMIS THE BEAR targets and kills ENEMY-CORSAIR BOSUN, unfortunately ENEMY-SUPPLY RUNNER sieges opportunity and kills my front liner ARKEMIS THE BEAR.
Immediately SANDWORM sneaks and kills ENEMY-SUPPLY RUNNER. Soon after THE JUNKER and SANDWORM go into rampage and kills ENEMY-DUMACKE EXILE
VICTORY FOR MY TEAM
🎉A RECAP OF THE LESSONS LEARNT ON LOST MAGIC RULESET
In battles with the LOST MAGIC
ruleset, Magic Monsters may not be used in battles. This ruleset and in duel with Armored up challenges players to rethink strategies and emphasize melee and ranged attackers. My lineup gave a balanced combination of high armor, solid attacking power, and strategic abilities which gave me an edge in this battle.
Remember, while this lineup is solid, pay attention to your opponents history and the adjoining Rulesets which could completely change gameplay. That will be all about my battle with LOST MAGIC
as focus ruleset. 🍀Good luck, and may your own battles be victorious! Thank you for stopping by😊
