I bought Forza Horizon 4 and it is amazing!

Hello and Welcome back to my blog!

My weekend travel plan came to an unprecedented halt as everything was ready for a small trek. So, I was left with some cash that I saved for that trip and an itch to do something fun at the weekend. I found almost a perfect substitute, driving in the world of Horizon!

I was browsing the games on Xbox Pass and was considering it. It had a lot of games but the sad reality of not owning a game would have haunted me. What if I can buy a great game for almost the same as an Xbox Pass? That's when I saw the Forza Horizon 4 in the store at an 80% discount. It drew my attention and I had been thinking of getting a Horizon game but the price of FH 5 is too much for me. All that without testing if it will run on my old GTX 1050 2GB VRAM card? I went on YouTube to see what kind of FPS these games are giving on a similar setup to me.

I saw close to 60FPS on medium settings in Horizon 4 and a few less FPS for the medium on Horizon 5. These results were shocking, to be honest. I always thought I would get below 40 FPS on this old GPU with little VRAM.

Forza Horizon 4 was a perfect choice for me. It was in my budget and is going to run smoother at 60FPS or so in medium settings on my PC. I bought it and started downloading it.

The downloading part took a long time. The game was close to 80 GB in size. But the sad part is I won't be able to record the gameplay. If I try to record it the FPS will take and it won't be a smoother experience. I don't want to play this beautiful game in low graphics.

But I promise to show you some nice shots from time to time and share your progress. Also, I loved how @technicalside would drift his different cars and complete races. He was the one who really decided to buy a Horizon game easily. (Look bro, I am already flying!)

I want to talk about the intro races. The intro of this game is so cool. It lets you control different cars on various tracks each in different weather. There are some cool stunts with the bikers vs car race (I think it was a spring-season race).

I won a couple of races including one with a cool stunt. That was not a race against an opponent but a stunt for a movie. I am in the movies already. Such a Superstar!

The game is generous enough at the start and gives you a few free cars. I chose a Ford Escort RS Cosworth. It turned out to be a really good car with impressive handling. Just don't judge it from the looks alone. It was perfect for the dirt race.

I was playing the game on Average difficulty and was winning easily (NFS practice or just beginner's luck and easy race?). Seeing that the game suggested I go for higher difficulty for a more challenging experience. I did that and won a couple of more races but this time there were close races.

I did a few more stunts for the movie and when the director left, he left us a big freaking house, for free! I never thought these directors were that rich! I wouldn't reject a free house in this economy...would you?

I could customize my looks here. Upgrade my cars by replacing parts. Fine-tune them. It looked scary to me so I didn't touch these configurations. I don't want to break a perfectly running car with my stupid habit of pressing every button and pulling every slider I see to the right...lol.

You can apply someone else's design to your cars too. I found one that I liked and drove around in it.

Later I participated in another dirt race (I love them). Took some more shots and played with the Photo mode too.

You can increase or degree this motion effect with Aperture and I am going to use it a lot in my shots.

I like the next one even more.

The horizon festival was going on and I could see the list of all the available cars. There were many hundreds of them. I quickly realised their Score determined how good they were overall. I saw a cheap Lamborghini costing only 300K rather than a million credits like some others.

My target is to get more credits and grab that Lamborghini. I rarely get this impressed by racing games. The open world is really beautiful in this one. I am looking forward to exploring the entire map and progressing in the story.

Thanks for reading!

Until the next race...
