Expeditions: Rome - The Journey Starts (Episode 1)

I am a big fan of turn-based roleplaying games, such as Baldur's Gate 2 and 3, Civilization VI, and similar games, that involve a lot of strategy and tactical maneuvers.

I had been planning to play a new game since December 2021, but I had a lot of traveling to do since then.

Well, now I am feeling that my gaming life should return to normal. I start with this new turn-based roleplaying game namely "Expeditions: Rome".

Character Creation

The game is pretty straightforward in terms of character creation, the player chooses either a male or a female character to play with. You can name the male character, but if you select a female character, she can't have a first name according to Roman Society of that time, this is an irony, but this is how the game works. The first character creation screen is only for selecting the gender of the character, you'll find another screen later in the game for further updating character skills.

First Mission

You'll embark on a mission leaving Rome on a battleship. You'll meet several new characters and interact with them to find out more about the missions.

Game Tutorial

The game tooltips appear to help you through the course of understanding the game basics. The tooltips also teach you how to start a strategic fight and use your party effectively. Whenever there is any new stuff coming your way in the game, the tooltip appears to guide you further.

Gameplay

This gameplay video revolves around the start of the main character's journey, the first step towards an actual expedition, which will be uploaded soon.

Graphics

The game is made with Unreal Engine 4. The graphics of the game looks quite nice, specially the characters look very real. The game runs pretty smooth in 60 frame/second and also optimized for low level graphics card such nVidia's 4 gb graphics cards.

The game is very immersive, I have started playing and felt like not to stop at any moment, because every new mission is a challenge.

The game has

Thanks for reading and watching.
