Animal Crossing New Leaf
Otra vez me propuse a desconectar de mi estrés diario y jugar un juego que no he jugado desde hace un largo tiempo, la saga de Animal Crossing siempre me ha parecido unos videojuegos simpáticos, amables y relajantes. La mayoría de los juegos proponen retos al jugador pero este tipo de juegos “Feel Good” me hacen relajarme y disfrutar un poco de la vida virtual lleno de simpatía y de personajes llenos de color. Es un juego que abraza el progreso mientras vas desde un simple aldeano llegando a la isla, todo el camino hasta poder ser el alcalde y tomar decisiones, en el juego hay tanta variedad tanto de cosas por hacer como de cómo hacerlas, los objetos, las interacciones con los habitantes son mucho más globales y no solo nos afectan en nuestro pequeño círculo sino que ahora pueden absorber a todo el pueblo, esta entrega es mucho más grande que su anterior y nos propone no solo pagar nuestras facturas sino liderar a un pueblo.
Once again I decided to disconnect from my daily stress and play a game that I have not played for a long time, the Animal Crossing saga has always seemed to me a nice, friendly and relaxing video games. Most games offer challenges to the player but this kind of "Feel Good" games make me relax and enjoy a bit of virtual life full of sympathy and colorful characters. It is a game that embraces progress as you go from a simple villager arriving on the island, all the way to being able to be the mayor and make decisions, in the game there is so much variety in both things to do and how to do them, objects, interactions with the inhabitants are much more global and not only affect us in our small circle but can now absorb the whole village, this installment is much larger than its predecessor and proposes us not only pay our bills but lead a people.
Como ya les dije, New Leaf es un juego que es ambicioso con respecto a su sucesor, por su tamaño y por su forma de abordar el juego, desde el comienzo nos ponen a la orden en una pequeña ciudad que deberemos gestionar y personalizar a nuestro gusto al mismo tiempo que vamos atendiendo los asuntos internos con los simpáticos personajes que la integran, algo curioso es que muchos de los personajes de anteriores entregas hacen acto de presencia acá pero creo que el que más me gusta es el de Canela, nuestra secretaria siempre atenta de todos nuestros movimientos en la ciudad y siempre dispuesta a tendernos una mano cuando no sepamos qué hacer. De este modo iremos mejorando poco a poco nuestra ciudad para llevarla a una nueva era de calma y progreso, podremos construir edificios y estructuras en donde queramos por lo que si quisiera poner un faro en mitad de la plaza lo podría hacer, el juego te da una libertad absurdamente grande para personalizar el pueblo y definir sus colores, algo que me encanta porque podremos también personalizar esas estructuras que iremos poniendo a lo largo del juego, agregando una capa extra de estilo al juego.
As I already told you, New Leaf is a game that is ambitious with respect to its successor, for its size and its approach to the game, from the beginning we are put to order in a small city that we must manage and customize to our liking at the same time that we are attending to internal affairs with the friendly characters that make it up, Something curious is that many of the characters from previous installments make an appearance here but I think the one I like the most is Canela, our secretary always attentive to all our movements in the city and always ready to lend a hand when we do not know what to do. In this way we will gradually improve our city to take it to a new era of calm and progress, we can build buildings and structures wherever we want so if I wanted to put a lighthouse in the middle of the square I could do it, the game gives you an absurdly large freedom to customize the people and define their colors, something I love because we can also customize those structures that we will be putting throughout the game, adding an extra layer of style to the game.
Empezamos por los departamentos municipales y aquí una de las funciones que más me sorprendieron y es la capacidad de gestionar las tiendas de nuestra ciudad para que actúen en base a como jugamos el juego, si por ejemplo, jugamos mucho más en la noche podremos ver un cambio en los habitantes cerrando mucho más tarde sus tiendas para que podamos actualizarnos y hablar con ellos o si llegamos temprano de trabajar entonces las tiendas harán lo mismo, es una dinámica que se adapta a como jugamos que me ha llevado a probar algunas configuraciones interesantes para ganar más dinero por ejemplo o tener mejores consejos de parte de Canela, nuestra secretaria.
We start with the municipal departments and here one of the functions that surprised me the most and is the ability to manage the stores in our city to act based on how we play the game, if for example, we play much more at night we can see a change in the inhabitants closing much later their stores so we can update and talk to them or if we arrive early from work then the stores will do the same, it is a dynamic that adapts to how we play that has led me to try some interesting settings to earn more money for example or have better advice from Canela, our secretary.
Otra función que me dejo sorprendida fue todo el mundo online de ciudades que podemos visitar y ver de primera mano lo que esconde el juego y lo que podemos conseguir con nuestro ingenio, ya esta función la había probado en otros Animal Crossing pero en esta entrega el nivel de personalización es tan alto que cada obra era dramáticamente diferente una de otra y de verdad ponía en vista todo el potencial creativo del juego, aunque hay varios problemas en el camino.
Another feature that blew me away was the whole online world of cities that we can visit and see first hand what the game hides and what we can achieve with our ingenuity, I had already tried this feature in other Animal Crossing but in this installment the level of customization is so high that each play was dramatically different from each other and really put in view all the creative potential of the game, although there are several problems along the way.
Uno de ellos son las obras publicas que se hacen en la ciudad y es que en esta entrega creo que se pasaron un poco con el precio de varias estructuras para integrar en nuestro pueblo, y es que aunque podamos también pedirles a los habitantes de la isla que nos ayuden a financiarla al final la mayoría del precio tendremos que pagarlo nosotros, y eso nos obligara a juntar más dinero y por ende a pasar más tiempo en el juego, aunque para ser justos esto no me molesta en lo absoluto ya que cada actividad que hacemos por más común que sea es interesante y tiene buenos incentivos para seguir haciéndolas hasta que llega un momento en el que tenemos suficiente para las obras públicas, no sé si el juego haga esto intencionalmente para que probemos todas las características del juego pero se hace un poco frustrante no poder pagar las obras sin tener que pasar 2 sesiones haciendo otras actividades porque no tenemos dinero.
One of them is the public works that are done in the city and in this installment I think they went a little overboard with the price of several structures to integrate in our town, and although we can also ask the inhabitants of the island to help us finance it in the end most of the price we will have to pay it ourselves, and that will force us to collect more money and therefore to spend more time in the game, although to be fair this does not bother me at all because every activity we do as common as it is is interesting and has good incentives to keep doing them until there comes a time when we have enough for public works, I do not know if the game does this intentionally for us to try all the features of the game but it gets a little frustrating not being able to pay the works without having to spend 2 sessions doing other activities because we have no money.
Hablando de las actividades que podemos hacer en New Leaf, van desde decorar nuestra casa y el pueblo, a pagar la hipoteca, hablar con los habitantes, pescar, recoger fruta, cazar y muchas actividades más que cada vez que terminamos podremos obtener algunas Bayas a cambio para cambiarlas por dinero, el pueblo esta tan lleno de vida que en algunas ocasiones los mismos habitantes nos propondrán hacer tareas para ellos a cambio de algunas monedas pero hay que estar atentos porque más de uno puede ser un avaro.
Speaking of the activities we can do in New Leaf, they range from decorating our house and the village, to paying the mortgage, talking to the inhabitants, fishing, picking fruit, hunting and many more activities that every time we finish we can get some berries in exchange for money, the village is so full of life that sometimes the inhabitants themselves will propose us to do tasks for them in exchange for some coins but we must be careful because more than one can be a miser.
También las opciones de la zona comercial en donde podremos encontrar zapatos así como ropa o comprar personalizables le agrega otra capa interesante al título, puedo incluso invitar a algunos amigos a la discoteca, la cosa es que el juego esta tan lleno de momentos pequeños pero satisfactorios que nunca te cansas de jugar incluso luego de haber superado todos los objetivos, es un juego calmado que construye poco a poco una relación contigo y te pone a amar a sus personajes, sin duda uno de los juegos que más disfrute en mi 3DS.
Also the options of the shopping area where we can find shoes as well as clothes or buy customizable adds another interesting layer to the title, I can even invite some friends to the disco, the thing is that the game is so full of small but satisfying moments that you never get tired of playing even after having overcome all the objectives, it is a calm game that gradually builds a relationship with you and makes you love its characters, certainly one of the games I most enjoyed on my 3DS.
