Sometimes it’s better not to download weird stuff from Steam
What's up, people? I was kinda bored and started lookin' at games on Steam, there's tons of options, some my PC can't even handle, but there was some like this one that it could. I played it for a bit and thought it was kinda funny to write a quick review about this weird unknown game. But first I wanna say, that any PC can run this, so if you got a potato PC, feel free to enjoy this one. Also, it's more of a comedy game, I don’t see it as realistic or anything like that, just funny lol.
Fistful of Frags is a game about cowboys, gangsters, and outlaws from the Wild West. I could tell ‘cause everything is all Wild West style, you can even see tumbleweeds rolling around the desert, lmao. Lots of maps are in the desert, some on pirate ships, and others in cabins, towns, even mountains. Everything looks old, which is cool, I really liked the setting of the game, it feels unique, never tried anything like it before.
Well, surprisingly the game has a campaign mode, but from what little I played, I didn’t get anything, it’s just maps with "challenges." Like, in one you had to kill 25 zombies to pass the test. Super weird since it has nothing to do with the wild west theme at all. Another one was parkour, and other random stuff… Honestly, the campaign mode sucked big time, one of the worst I’ve seen in my life. But hey, maybe some folks out there will enjoy this kinda thing, who knows.
Since the single-player mode was trash, I went to the multiplayer, and that's where I had some laughs. First, most servers are dead, which sucks... there’s only like 3 or 4 with very few people, but at least 10 players, so you can play a match no problem. I also saw there are external servers, but I didn’t try those, maybe they have more people, no clue. I only found all-vs-all servers with players, basically we're in a map killing each other, and with each kill, you switch weapons, that part I actually liked.
The game has a big variety of weapons, all old-school wild west style. I found bows, revolvers, shotguns, machine guns, spencers, etc. All old stuff, no fast shooting or bursts like in Counter-Strike, nope. Each weapon has its own specific way to shoot, it’s not easy to kill moving players when your gun literally takes 3 seconds to fire another shot… It’s kinda frustrating, but that's where I found the challenge in Fistful of Frags, in its game mechanics. You got shooting weapons and melee too, like machetes, axes, and even your fists.
It’s a bit hard to get used to at first, best not to get frustrated or you’ll end up breaking your mouse or keyboard. It took me a bit, but after a few minutes, I managed to get my first kills. It reminded me a lot of the "gun game" mode in Counter-Strike, it’s basically the same but in a crappy game lol. When you run or walk, there’s a little indicator in the crosshair that shows how accurate you are. Same if you try aiming with the right click, not all weapons can aim, but when you stop moving, you’re more accurate. But, basic shooter rule: never stop moving while shooting, or you’re dead. Gotta keep moving, but here it’s more complicated than other shooters… You gotta stop for a sec to shoot, and since each weapon has a reload time, you get a bit of time to prepare for your next shot. It’s weird but fun.
Graphics are alright, there's some nice landscapes, and the interface reminds me a lot of Half-Life and Counter-Strike 1.6. Maybe they're made with the same engine. It also has funny ragdoll death animations, they’re cool. There’s also lots of blood effects, and you can talk to your teammates through a list of pre-set words, like "laugh", "yes", "no", etc. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this game, even though it's fun for a few laughs, it's not really worth it. You can try it, and if you like it, it's all yours. But me? I already uninstalled it…

A veces es mejor no descargar cosas raras de Steam
Que tal gente? Estaba un poco aburrido y estuve investigando sobre juegos en Steam, hay bastantes opciones, algunas mi PC no las correría, pero hubo otras como esta que sí, estuve jugando un rato y me pareció curioso hacerle una pequeña reseña a este extraño desconocido juego, pero primero les quiero decir que, cualquier PC podría correrlo, así que si tienes una calculadora como PC, siéntete feliz de poder jugar este juego, también que es un juego más que todo enfocado a la comedia, no lo veo tan realista ni mucho menos, sino gracioso XD.
Fistful of Frags es un juego de vaqueros, mafiosos y bandidos del viejo oeste, lo pude notar porque absolutamente todo está ambientado al viejo oeste, incluso puedes ver las bolas de paja rodando por el desierto, y por cierto, muchos de sus mapas son ambientados en el desierto, algunos otros ambientados en barcos piratas, y muchos más en cabañas, pueblos, incluso montañas. Todo se ve bastante viejo, eso es un puntazo, me encantó la ambientación del juego, realmente me parece única, ya que jamás había probado algo parecido.
Bueno, sorprendentemente el juego tiene una especie de modo campaña, pero lo poco que probé no entendí nada, solo son mapas con un "reto", por ejemplo en uno de ellos tenías que matar a 25 zombies para superar la prueba, me pareció muy extraño ya que no tiene nada que ver con la temática del viejo oeste. Otro de ellos era hacer parkour, y más cosas así... La verdad no me gustó para nada su supuesto modo campaña, ya que no tiene nada que ver una cosa con la otra y de hecho, es de los peores modos campaña que he visto en mi puta vida. Sin embargo supongo habrá gente que les gustará o agradará este tipo de juegos, sinceramente no lo sé.
Pues ya que el modo 1 jugador me pareció terrible, decidí irme al Multijugador, y es allí dónde pude encontrar algo de diversión y bastantes risas. Primero, casi todos los servidores están vacíos, una lástima... Solo existen 3 o 4 servidores con muy poca gente, pero al menos hay 10 jugadores, so, puedes jugar una partida sin problemas. También me fijé que existen servidores externos, pero no los probé, tal vez allí hay muchos más jugadores, no tengo idea. Solo encontré los servidores de todos vs todos con gente, básicamente estamos en un mapa y vamos matandónos todos contra todos, por cada kill vas cambiando tus armas, y eso sí me interesó.
El juego cuenta con una gran variedad de armas, y todas son ambientadas al viejo oeste. Pude encontrar arcos, revólvers, escopetas, ametralladoras, spencers, etc. Todo armas viejas, nada de rápidez o ráfagas como en Counter Strike, nope. Y es que cada arma tiene su mecánica específica para disparar, no es para nada fácil matar a jugadores en movimiento cuándo tu pistolar literalmente tarda 3 segundos en poder hacer otro disparo... Es un poco estresante pero allí encontré lo desafiante de Fistful of Frags, y es su mecánica de juego. Tenemos disparar y también tenemos armas a melee, machetes, hachas, e incluso nuestros puños.
Si bien es un poquito difícil acostumbrarse al principio, lo mejor es no desesperarse, sino terminarás rompiendo tu mouse o teclado. A mí me costó un poco pero luego de algunos minutos logré hacer mis primeras kills. Me recordó bastante al modo "carrera de armas" de Counter Strike, es básicamente lo mismo pero en un juego de mierda XD. Al ir corriendo o caminando tendremos un indicador en la mira que nos dirá cuánta precisión tenemos, y lo mismo si intentamos apuntar con el click derecho, no en todas las armas es posible pero cuándo nos quedamos parados es cuándo más precisión tendremos, pero una regla básica de cualquier shooter es: Jamás te quedes parado disparando, porque vas a morir. Tienes que moverte, pero aquí es un poco más complejo que en otros shooters... Al moverte tienes que parar por un momento y disparar, y cómo cada arma tiene un tiempo de recarga, te da chance de irte preparando para el siguiente disparo, es extraño pero divertido...
Gráficamente está nice, tiene bastantes paisajes bonitos y su interfaz me recuerda demasiado a la del Half-Life y Counter-Strike 1.6, tal vez estén hechos con el mismo motor gráfico. También tiene curiosas animaciones de muerte, son tipo ragdoll, están nice. También tienen bastantes efectos de sangre e incluso puedes hablar con tus compañeros mediante una lista de palabras ya predeterminadas, pueden ser risas, sí, no, etc. Sinceramente a mi parecer no recomendaría este juego, si bien está bien para sacar algunas risas, no vale la pena, puedes probarlo y si te gusta adelante, es todo tuyo. Pero yo, ya lo desinstalé...
