Bloodroots Review - Endless Excitement and Fun

bloodroots_key_art1024x576.jpg

You and I and we all went through intense times of anger, wishing we could carry a hammer or stick or anything else on our way and use it to hit that thing or the person that angered us (no, I am not a nervous person). In Bloodroots, you'll be able to use literally everything around you to kill whoever is standing in front of you in a very satisfying way, but it's not always easy. So is this indie game worth your money? - Burn To Review: The answer is definitely!

Bloodroots is close to arcade games and in the type of fighting and violence (beat-in-m-up) with great cartoon graphics and gameplay similar to Hotline Miami and Katana Zero, which are considered two of the best indie games ever. Your main goal in each stage is to kill every person before they kill you, so you simply enter (Oh killer, killed). From the first minutes of the game until now, I feel excited and fun every time I play it.

One of the best things about it is its animation style and the ability to use anything you see on the screen as a weapon. The game's graphics, as is clear, are inspired by the famous Samurai Jack series and as you progress through the stages and play with them, you will be delighted with the movement and combat system. I can tell if Hatline Miami was in the Old West and I marry Samurai Jack to have the Bloodroots. When you get rid of most of the enemies and one character remains, you will get a short movie clip that shows you the excitement slowly and depends on the weapon you carry, so whatever the weapon differs, this clip will differ. I usually hate it when fast games slow down the speed of the game because they kill adrenalin, but the scenes here were amusing and make you eager to see how you will kill this person using a fish, a carrot, or a bucket.

The main character Mister Wolf is also adept at using real weapons such as axes, swords and firearms, but I have more fun killing enemies with tools and non-killing items. You can throw the wheels of the chariots at the enemies or you can stand on one and ride it until it breaks. For example, you can use or use fireworks to burn enemies or jump twice - if your timing is perfect you will be able to do both at the same time.

Timing is one of the most important factors in Bloodroots, so mastering it will greatly simplify your life. The game control is simple, there is a button to take a weapon, another to use it, another to jump, that's it. You can only use your hands if you want to, but this will increase your death rate because you won't be able to hit quickly. Each weapon has a certain number of strikes, after that it will break and you will not be able to use it, which prompts you to search for many other weapons as you progress. The fast-paced and action-packed gameplay will make it one of the games that people will race to finish quickly in the speedrun championships. But do not worry if you are not fast and die, when you die you will return to the beginning of the stage you are in only and you will be able to progress more as you will remember the stage a little.

One of the things that interests me is the game's realistic cartoon physics engine, so everything that makes sense in the real world can be done with the game as well. Throwing a lantern at an enemy will leave a trail of fire in its squad. In addition to igniting the enemies, you can also roll over a wooden barrel and go over the flames to set fire to an entire field or camp. If you hit a pine tree, you will fall on enemies and crush everyone standing underneath it, as well as open a new area in the stage because you will be able to use it as a bridge. You can also use the ladder as a weapon and rotate it as a helicopter to kill many enemies at the same time and then use it to jump up, the possibilities are many and this is what makes it one of the best games you have played this year.

Beside killing and endless violence, Bloodroots tells a story through which we will learn about the game world and many interesting characters. Mister Wolf was one of the members of a gang whose members are all named after wild animals, and together they spread terror in the Wild West, but after a massacre in the Tarrytown village, the character decided to leave the gang, but his old colleagues treated him as a traitor and tried to kill him. This is what infuriated Mister Wolf so much and decided to take revenge on all the gang members as well as everyone standing in his way.

The music in the game is very suitable for its style and world, there are some old western clips in addition to the cartoon clips that help you enter the atmosphere more and I always enjoyed them. There is no group mode, but after each stage you finish, you will see a leaderboard, which will show you the players with the best results, and this depends on the number of consecutive kills (combos), the number of different weapons, the number of times of death and more, this matter adds more challenge and the player is sometimes preferred over Repeat the stage to get a better result.

I enjoyed the Bloodroots immensely while playing the Nintendo Switch, but it might not suit everyone especially those who do not bear much death and get impatient quickly. As you progress more, the game will become more difficult, and you will have to change your plan to progress and develop your skills more, sometimes you die in one stage about ten times. The story is not one of the factors that the game depends on, its main selling point is the gameplay and the graphics, so if you are only playing it for the story you will not get that fun that spoke.

In the end, I can say that Bloodroots is unique and will provide you with a lot of entertainment and enjoyment, and will release your anger if you are angry, or increase it if you are killed several times in a row. If you are looking for a fast, action-packed, challenging and varied game, especially weapons and stages, we recommend that you definitely buy it.
