Today I am reviewing Parappa the rapper Remastered for the PS4. Parappa the Rapper Remastered is a rhythm game developed by NanaOn-Sha.It was originally published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation in Japan in 1996 and worldwide in 1997.

You play as Parappa a cartoon dog who is trying to win the affections of Sunny funny. The game sees a rapper taking on a variety of challenges to impress say such as learning kungfu passing his driving test and learning to cook. Each level is kind of like one long QuickTime event as you have to press the appropriate button at the designated time on the screen, do it well and your rating will be cool or good, do it badly and you'll get a bad or awful rating. To complete the level you need to at least a good rating to progress each level is accompanied by a super catchy song and unique characters like a kung-fu onion master, a bossy driving instructor, and a reggae flea market frog. It's a very simple premise you press a bunch of buttons at the same time as they appear on the screen and then your character raps and sings a song and you either do it well or you do it badly that will dictate whether you progress so it's a very simple premise anyone can play it and it's just very colorful very fun and it's a really a game that will make you smile.

Speaking of the visuals, graphically the game has this paper-thin cartoon style and it's one of the most vibrant and colorful games you will ever play the remaster has smoothed over the rough edges and it looks great but the cutscenes, they haven't had any of the same treatment they're this very sort of pixelated rubbish visuals which I think is a bit of a lazy move. The audio is really the standout of the game songs that accompany each level are so catchy you will find yourself humming them in your spare time and the character voices they're funny and cool and it's just a fantastic audio experience.

The game has a simple premise and it's lots of fun. The songs are excellent all the in-game characters are larger than life and charming and each level is well worth playing and the finale and freestyle options are pretty cool. The game is very sure won't take you long to complete sometimes the rating system feels a little bit random and the cutscenes haven't been remastered from the original release which is a bit of a lazy move as I said.

Parappa the rapper is a really fun family-friendly game it's bright colorful and easy to pick up and play with hands an experience that will make you smile throughout. The songs and the characters are very cool and quirky but the whole experience will be over very quickly but despite the short nature of the experience is one of the most enjoyable rhythm games out there and one that is full of charm. So it's well worth a look if you want a fun party game to play with your friends or your kids as it's very simple and easy to follow. So, That was the review. If you like it, please Upvote, comment, and share it. Thank you
