Two RPGs that are going to rock the world of gaming in 2023 🤯🎮👀

My senses stay on high alert when it comes to the latest and greatest video games released. 2023 is yet another massive year for gaming. When it comes to the potential game of the year contenders, I always look at the big-budget RPGs coming out for the year. There are many, but two of the best-looking games of the year both come out this month. I'm of course talking about Atomic Heart and Hogwarts Legacy.

Today we will talk about why each of these games must be taken seriously as GOTY winners. The competition will be thick as it is every single year, but I believe both of these games could have what it takes to pull out a valiant victory.

Let's talk about each game for a bit...

Atomic Heart

Here is what the official description for the game says:

Welcome to a utopian world of wonders and perfection, in which humans live in harmony with their loyal and fervent robots.

Well, that's how it used to be. With the launch of the latest robot-control system mere days away, only a tragic accident or a global conspiracy could disrupt it…

The unstoppable course of technology along with secret experiments have brought rise to mutant creatures, terrifying machines, and superpowered robots—all suddenly rebelling against their creators. Only you can stop them and find out what lies behind the idealized world.

If that doesn't already have your attention, let me explain why I am so excited about this one. It mainly stems from the fact that the world in which the game takes place is just so damn cool to me. It's super futuristic and these are some of the most unique robot designs that I have ever seen in a game before. I get some serious Bioshock vibes from this but trust me when I say that Atomic Heart is in a league of its own.

The combat looks incredibly exciting and I'm sure there will be lots of upgrades to be had. It's said to take around 25 hours to complete, which is the ideal length of game for me. There will of course be extra content beyond the 25 hours of the main story.

If this game lives up to the hype that has surrounded it for the past few years, then it really might have a chance of winning game of the year. Then again, it could be another game that launches in terrible condition, but I pray that is not what happens. I have high hopes for the game and will be getting it at launch as long as the reviews that drop a few days before it comes out don't say to avoid it for a particular reason.

Hogwarts Legacy

Here is what the official description for the game says:

This is a game that is long overdue. Harry Potter is one of the most popular fantasy franchises to ever exist. Whether you read books or watch movies, surely you will recognize the name.

You may be surprised to not see Harry Potter in the title of this game, but that is because it takes place during a period before Harry Potter was ever born. You will still be exploring the same school of Hogwarts and the surrounding areas. Plus, you may even run into a few characters who you recognize from the movies, most of which are eternal ghosts though.

This will be the first time that fans have their own chance to explore every inch of Hogwarts. This is a fantasy that many have had all of their lives and this game opens up the doors. I imagine that there will be many people who aren't even that big into gaming who will give this game a shot.

Exploration is going to be the best part of this game I'm sure, but the combat looks interesting too. You can even attend classes, but don't worry it won't force you to do so like Persona.

They have said that the DualSense will be used in some unique ways. Plus there is some PlayStation-exclusive content for the game. This to me means that PS5 is the best platform to play this game.
