Welcome to Another Review
Deus ex mankind divided is an action role-playing game developed by Eidos Montréal. The game is available on the Xbox One, PS4, and Microsoft Windows. The game is set in 2029 in a world divided by a conflict between humans and augmented humans. The game unfolds throughout Prague Dubai and London where you have to uncover the conspiracy unfolding throughout the conflict.
You start with a well thought out tutorial prologue, breaking down combat stealth, and the cover-based system. After this, you arrive in Prague a city under police control where you and your team have to investigate various dark and malevolent organizations and secret societies. Now Deus Ex is a game all about choosing how you approach a problem depends on. You can hack your way through doors or find the passwords lying around the level. Don't fancy that well you can infiltrate air vents and sneak past guards or if all else fails just get your guns and grenades and fight your way to the objective
But every choice has a consequence so bear that in mind before going postal. One key feature is your character's augmentations. Orgs are perks that you can install in your character's loadout that give you special powers from smart vision to view heat signatures a cloaking device the ability to breathing toxic fumes or superhuman strength. You can turn these orgs on or off if you've got enough praxis which are the units used to implement orgs. You can add additional perks and also level up these orcs. It's really up to you and the system is really good for people who want a unique experience.
If you just prefer using weapons you can loot corpses or weapon lockers and just use lethal or non-lethal weapons in combat. The narrative, in general, I'd say is very strong and there's a lot of it so plenty of dialogue, choices, cut scenes, where you can really get into the nitty-gritty of the story. The game may be a few years old but it still looks nice Although, there were some frame rate issues from time to time.
The lip-syncing is a little bit hit and miss but barring that the environments are really good they convey that kind of dark futuristic sci-fi Cyberpunk vibe. The voice acting is good overall with the main character's voice very well indeed the music sound effects and in-game ambiance are really nice and it's very atmospheric. The game gives you a real sense of freedom to approach problems in whatever way you choose. The combat system is in-depth and offers many choices the augmentations and leveling up allow for each player to create their own unique protagonist and it's a beautiful and dystopian landscape to play through. Sometimes it can be quite vague how to progress the hacking and password sections are a little bit tedious and some of the lip-syncing isn't great.
Final Thoughts
The game is an in-depth comprehensive game with almost limitless possibilities for different strategies. The complex augmentation customization feature lets you develop and create your own unique character and it's a refreshing game experience that lets you attack each problem in your own way. The narrative is strong visually it's good and overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the game and the freedom it gave me.
