Gaming Platform shutdown, Ninja and Shroud freed from Contract

The streaming platform 'Mixer' very popular among gaming streamers was officially shutdown from yesterday. Microsoft's announcement came as a shock to many, most who say that they didn't even get a warning for what was coming.

Mixer initially called 'Beam' was a popular live streaming platform especially for games that was launched back in 2016. In 2017 Microsoft had bought the service and integrated it to their console the Xbox One.

Mixer was popular due to its different approach of interaction between the viewer and the streamer. With a low latency of 1 -2 secs, Mixer enabled its users to perform actions and interact with the streamers at real time rather than wait 10-20 seconds for their action to come up on screen like other platforms.

Mixer also shot up in 2019 since a well known Fortnite streamer nicknamed 'Ninja' jumped to the scene switching from Twitch TV. Another famous streamer 'Shroud' was also someone with a high follower count. Though both of them had an official negotiated offer from Facebook gaming, both of them opted out. Microsoft settled their payments and both were free to choose whichever streaming platform they wished.

The reason for the shutdown seems to be Microsoft's inability to scale up the platform to the next level. Instead Microsoft says they have made some sort of a deal with Facebook and most monetized channels were asked to join Facebook's game streaming platform Facebook Gaming.

The shutdown seems to be rushed and without a decent warning ahead most streamers who were growing on the platform are now worried on where to go next.

However both Ninja and Shroud are laughing their way to the banks with both of them keeping the contract money of around a million dollars each and free to chose their journey ahead.
