Silver McCarren Airport Token from Las Vegas/ Re-blog lottery

Las Vegas has always been one of my favorite cities to just get away and have a good time. There is something for everyone twenty four hours a day! As a matter of fact the #slivergoldstakers have a meeting there each March. Schedule allowing I sure plan to be be there this next year.

If you've ever flown into Las Vegas the first thing you see as you enter the terminal are slot machines everywhere in the airport. I have been on layovers there many times while flying Southwest Airlines. Several years ago back in the 1990's during one of my longer layovers decided to try my luck on the slots. I started at a penny slot because it was close to my next departure gate and won a couple hundred dollars. Not too shabby since I usually almost always lose playing slots. At this point I was playing with house money so I went to the Silver Strike machines hoping to win some silver tokens. Silver Strike slots payout in commemorative bronze and silver tokens.

I didn't have much luck at the Silver Strikes but I did win this one token that I'm sharing today. It's a McCarren Airport $10 silver gaming token. So I walked away happy with some silver in my pocket and about a hundred bucks left off the penny slots so it was a good layover! It paid for lunch and a beer!

About he token:
Casino: McCarren Airport Slots
Denomination: $10
Composition: 99.9% silver
Mint: Casino Tokens
Edge: Smooth
Obverse: Airplane with Las Vegas McCarren
Reverse: Blackjack 21
Weight: About 0.6 troy ounces

A few years back they changed the name of the airport to Harry Reid International Airport, so these old McCarren's aren't made any more. I believe this particular design was only produced in the 90's but who knows how many were actually produced. They are more just a fun silver souvenir than anything!

That is my story for the day and I hope you enjoyed it. I want to thank everyone for being so supportive and kind here on Hive. Especially the #silvergoldstackers! I hope you all have a great weekend and thanks for taking the time to stop by and read my post!

And my disclaimer: Gold and silver stacking can be a fun hobby but isn't for everyone. You can lose money. I'm not a financial advisor and this isn't financial advice, please always do your own research before spending your hard earned money.
