(RP) I went to stock up on sausages in the nearby VILLAGE with my dog Samba to replenish the inn's stocks.
What started out as a good idea for a walk soon turned into a disaster; I think the sight and smell of all those sausages drove him mad.
He rushed off without me having time to stop him and grabbed a whole string of still-warm sausages before galloping off.
The mustard got up the butcher's nose, and he gave chase in vain.
When I recounted this episode to our innkeeper, he laughed, then a gleam appeared in his eye - he'd finally found a name for his invention of sausage and mustard-filled buns, HOT DOGS of course.
He wasn't too disappointed when I told him I'd only brought 12 sausages.
After all, I had to reimburse the ones stolen by Samba, and I was out of money.

(RP) Je suis allé faire provision de saucisses dans LE VILLAGE voisin avec mon chien Samba pour refaire les stocks de l'auberge.

Ce qui se présentait comme une bonne idée de promenade a vite tourné à la catastrophe, je crois que le fait de voir et de sentir toutes ces saucisses l'a rendu fou.
Il s'est précipité sans que j'ai le temps de le retenir et a attrapé un chapelet entier de saucisses encore chaudes avant de s'enfuir au galop.
La moutarde est montée au nez du charcutier qui l'a poursuivie en vain.

Quand j'ai raconté cet épisode à notre aubergiste il s'est mis à rire, puis une lueur est apparue dans son regard, il avait enfin trouvé un nom pour son invention de petits pains fourrés à la saucisse et à la moutarde, des HOT DOGS bien sûr.
Il n'a pas été trop déçu quand je lui ai dit que je n'avais ramené que 12 saucisses.
J'ai en effet dû rembourser celles volées par Samba et je me suis retrouvé à cours d'argent.
