THE VILLAGE DIARY:
We continue our journey southwards, in search of a harbour and a boat that would allow us to shelter from the Z epidemic on an unscathed island.
All the hamlets we pass are abandoned, and there's no sign of fighting, but we've noticed something strange.
They had been emptied of all useful objects, and our experience has taught us that it's impossible to take everything with you when you evacuate a village, so how can we explain this?
By mid-afternoon we found yesterday's happy DUO running to meet us on the road.
To tell the truth, they didn't look happy at all: they were frightened, exhausted, their clothes torn and all their belongings gone.
They told us their terrible story.
As they approached the big city not far from here, they were met by a patrol of guards who escorted them out.
But at the city gates they discovered chained slaves working in the fields; they were shocked and wanted to move away, but the guards pursued them.
The only thing that saved them was a group of zombies they ran through, who stopped the guards, and then came towards us to warn of the danger.
These two characters are a bit eccentric, but given their condition, the story seems plausible. However, we're going to send two very discreet scouts to observe the outskirts of the town, and we'll set up camp tonight at a distance from the road as a precaution.
I wonder how many slaves are imprisoned in this town?
I really don't feel like writing that down on the papers in my pockets.

LE JOURNAL DU VILLAGE:
Nous continuons notre route vers le sud afin de trouver un port et un bateau qui nous permettrait de nous mettre à l'abri de l'épidémie Z sur une ile qui en serait épargnée.
Tous les hameaux que nous traversons sont abandonnés, et il n'y a aucune trace de combat, cependant nous avons observé quelque chose d'étrange.
Ils ont été vidés de tout objet utile, or notre expérience nous a appris qu'il est impossible de tout emmener quand on évacue un village, comment expliquer cela ?
En milieu d'après midi nous avons retrouvé le joyeux DUO d'hier qui courrait à notre rencontre sur le chemin.
A vrai dire ils n'avaient plus du tout l'air joyeux, ils étaient effrayés, épuisés, les vêtements déchirés et dépossédés de tous leurs biens.
Ils nous ont raconté leur terrible histoire.
Alors qu'ils approchaient de la grande ville non loin d'ici, ils ont été accueillis par une patrouille de gardes qui les ont escortés.
Mais aux portes de la ville ils ont découvert des esclaves enchainés qui travaillaient dans les champs, ils ont été choqués et ont voulu s'éloigner mais les gardes les ont poursuivis.
Ils n'ont dû leur salut qu'à un groupe de zombies qu'ils ont traversé en courant et qui a arrêté les gardes, puis ils sont venus à notre rencontre pour nous prévenir.
Ces deux personnages sont un peu farfelus mais vu leur état, l'histoire semble plausible, nous allons cependant envoyer deux éclaireurs très discrets pour observer les abords de la ville, et nous installerons notre campement de ce soir à distance de la route par précaution.
Je me demande combien d'esclaves sont emprisonnés dans cette ville ?
Je n'ai vraiment pas envie de noter ça sur les papiers dans mes poches.
