Hey there, Summoners!
Welcome back to another weekly Splinterlands challenge.
Yeah, we used to call ourselves "players," but ever since the official Splinterlands update, we’ve been upgraded to Summoners—while our former summoner cards now carry the prestigious title of Archons. Not gonna lie, even that small detail makes me feel more immersed in the game than ever before.
This season has felt like a wild roller coaster. It started off chill—still relying heavily on my trusted Chaos Legion deck—and now, with the official announcement of Conclave Arcana, it’s like being dropped into an entirely new battlefield.
As someone who’s more comfortable in the Modern format, I remember thinking, “What’s going to happen to my deck if Chaos Legion really moves into Wild?” But Splinterlands surprised us all. They didn’t just release a new set—they reworked the system from the ground up.
So here’s my story as I welcome the arrival of Conclave Arcana.
First off, I have to say—Conclave Arcana is stunning. Animated cards? Black Foils that drop fully maxed out? And don’t even get me started on new abilities like Bloodline Dominion—imagine summoning a unit from a different Splinter just because they share the same race? That alone flips the whole strategy game on its head.

One card that immediately caught my eye was Bella Ratajowlski—yep, that hippo Archon. With two buffs, including one that boosts all Ulund-race units, she opens the door to an entirely new niche team-building style. Suddenly, “bloodlines” become something worth building around—something I’d never even thought about before.
But alongside all that excitement comes a real challenge: with so many cards rotating out and new ones entering the scene, I had to rethink everything. Chaos Legion-heavy decks are no longer reliable, and with my Rebellion collection still growing, it kinda feels like I’m starting over in Modern.
When I first read the article “Introducing Conclave Arcana”, I was genuinely excited. This set isn't just 82 new cards (with 24 Commons, 29 Rares, 14 Epics, and 15 Legendaries)—it’s packed with revolutionary features. Let’s break down some of the coolest ones.
🎴 1. Archons: No Longer Just Summoners
From now on, the cards we used to call summoners are officially Archons.
We, the players, are the true Summoners. It adds so much depth to the lore—like we’re actually calling upon these Archons to lead our armies.
Each Archon now gives two buffs:
Example: Bella Ratajowlski gives “Deflect” to all monsters, and an extra “Shield” to Ulund-race monsters. Strategy just got deeper—we now have to think about race, not just element.
💫 2. Races and Bloodline Dominion
This new feature blew my mind: Bloodline Dominion.
Imagine having a Gnome Archon from the Death Splinter, but there’s a Gnome monster from Fire. Thanks to Bloodline Dominion, you can summon that Fire unit too—because the race matches.

This opens the door to absolutely wild strategies. Element restrictions used to be firm, but now we can build cross-element decks as long as the race aligns. It’s like playing chess with a flexible board and dynamic pieces. I can already imagine how lucky one would be to pull a strong Archon early. Who knows how valuable they’ll be on the market? Only time will tell.
🖤 3. Black Foil and Arcane Version: The Ultra Rare Cards
This is the part that gets my heart racing when opening packs.
Black Foil is a new kind of foil, separate from Gold Foil:

Arcane Version is an animated version of Gold or Black Foil cards.
As someone who loves collecting and card design, this motivates me to go all in. The animation and new fonts make the cards feel truly magical.
🎁 4. $1 Starter Pack
This feature is perfect for new players.
For just $1, you get a starter set with Common and Rare cards—including an Archon. That means it’s way easier to bring friends into the game without the “paywall” scare.
So what am I most looking forward to with Conclave Arcana?
It’s not just the cards, the new mechanics, or even the stunning artwork. It’s the sense of wonder. I’m genuinely excited to experiment, to lose and win with new strategies, and slowly adapt to this fresh new phase of Splinterlands.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned this season: don’t be afraid to adapt.
Conclave Arcana is a golden opportunity to explore new strategies. Sure, it can be overwhelming—especially with Chaos Legion moving to Wild—but that’s where the real challenge lies. It’s a chance to rethink, rebuild, and grow as a player.
On a tight budget? Start with the Starter Pack and build slowly. Going competitive? Black Foils might be your long-term goal. Whatever your path, enjoy the process.
See you in the Arena, Summoners. Let the Arcana unfold. ✨
