TOPIC:
REFUSE TO BE CONTAMINATED
BIBLE TEXT:
Then the Philistines seized him, gouged out his eyes and took him down to Gaza. >Binding him with bronze shackles, they set him to grinding grain in the prison (Judges 16:21).
CONTROLLING THOUGHT:
The devil can either retire you or destroy you as a Christian by contaminating you.
INTRODUCTION
No sin is small. Sin destroys influence and fame. Samson did not know that, so he played with sin that led to his destruction. He began to play with sin until he lost his sight and was reduced to a grinder and caricature. Sin is like fire, it burns. Don't play with fire, fire will burn you.
MAIN DISCOURSE
The enemy is busy trailing believers in order to contaminate them with the decadence of this evil world. He has succeeded in retiring many believers who were once on fire for God and His kingdom, and has neutralized them.
According to our text for today, the Philistines pursued Samson until they neutralized him and turned what was once a most feared man into a servant that ground at the mill. So, shameful.
Refuse to be contaminated by this world. If they succeed in contaminating you, you'll be silenced and become ineffective for the assignment of God's kingdom on earth.
Gehazi, Judas Iscariot and Samson were all contaminated and lost their voices in their generation. Don't be like any of them. Gehazi was contaminated by material things of a leper. He died in leprosy. Judas Iscariot was contaminated by the same materialism, and he murdered himself in shame. In our text, it was Samson who was contaminated by immorality, he lost his divinely gifted power at the laps of Delilah. Died shamefully without his eyes.
If you must remain valuable and useful to God on earth, refuse (by every means possible) to be contaminated by the corruption of this age. Reject ill gotten money and material wealth. Satan will always come with sweet coated tongue to deceive the simple.
DECLARATION:
If you would like to give your life to Jesus, you can do so by saying this prayer:
Lord Jesus, I come to You a sinner. I ask that You forgive my sins. I accept You into my heart as my Lord and personal saviour. Thank You for saving me, in Jesus' Name -Amen.
PRAYER
Father, help me to avoid being contaminated by the evils of this world, in Jesus' name -Amen.
