I don't write or say that sentence often enough. It's good to reflect on the positive days. Writing this will help cement the memory in my mind.
A few factors contributed: in the clinic, my very first patient loudly announced that he wants me as his doctor for future visits. That's always a great thing to hear. I managed to convince this same patient (and another patient who was resistant to taking medications) to start on some medications which, frankly, would benefit them, of course with a long-term goal of taking them off if they get their conditions under control. I'm not the type that likes to over-prescribe medications, especially knowing the dangers of polypharmacy, but I certainly do know when they're needed. Thus, this was another set of victories.
I'm also getting a very good hang of hitting most or all of the important points of every aspect of the outpatient appointment. There are certainly stylistic differences among different providers, and there are certain small (but pertinent) things which I may miss, but I'm getting closer every time. It's a great thing, considering I'm less than a year away from independently practicing! I really have to hone things in this year.
Additionally, I got compliments on some art that I've been contributing to our shared office space recently. I'll post it here eventually. It's a physically large project, which I've worked on in pieces over several months. There's quite a bit left to go, but my coworkers have already been raving about it for a while. I don't let it get to my head, and focus on getting the art just right for the sake of the art, but it's still pleasant to receive the praise.
I'll be playing a small amount of games as soon as I finish this post. I haven't done so for several weeks, and a little bit of time (30-40 minutes) is absolutely ok. It's even healthy to destress this way.
Lastly, I'll finish watching a movie with my Mom while eating an admittedly late dinner.
It's a good day, indeed.
