Over the course of last year, the FreeCompliments Community has created a few consistent jobs that pay out in HSBI. We’ve kept a payroll that has helped with the productivity and growth of the community. Now, I introduce one more job position! This position is a replacement for one of our employees who, who due life circumstances, is currently unable to continue in the position, and we amicably wish him the best in his life journey.
Using the HSBI (Hive Stake-Based Income) model to pay employees allows them to receive permanent income as long as they keep creating posts. This means that even if they work for only a month or so, they’ll have a lifetime income, in the form of votes, as a result of the HSBI Units they receive, provided they keep posting to Hive.
The Job Position
This job is intended to be done by two people, each with their own position and pay. The position is called “Nominator.” Each of you will contribute nominations for our Post of the Month, Compliment of the Month, and Non-Compliment Comment of the Month. These will be posted using the @fc-nominations acount using a premade template on an approximately weekly basis.
Thus, we will have an average of approximately 4 nominations per category per person, for a total of 8 nominations per category per month. This is a total of 8 nominated posts, 8 nominated compliments, and 8 nominated non-compliment comments, split evenly amongst each nominator.
This will involve going through the posts and comments and choosing your favorites. The criteria will be up to you, although I encourage nominations to be for content that is unique, creative, full of effort, and/or highly personal. The content should be original, but augmentation with AI is OK (if used, for instance, to help with grammar, spelling, etc.).
When sending the nominations, ensure that you don’t choose the same post; this means that the two nominators would have to communicate with each other to ensure that the overlap does not occur. The nominations will be reported to each other via Discord and via Hive itself.
Preference will be given to applicants who have been active within and members of the community longer.
One of our Nominators, @mviews, will assist / train you in the process of creating these posts during the first month. Since this is extra out-of-title work, he will be paid extra HSBI for doing so.
The payment offer
Each position will earn 10 HSBI per month. I am keeping track of post and comment count, so as these increase within the community, the pay could increase. I will, however, never decrease the pay.
NOTE: However, since this position will start mid-month and include some training by our currently employed Nominator, it would pay 5 HSBI (and our current Nominator would receive 15 HSBI) only for this month.
Continuing to build Hive’s economy by adding different types of jobs
The additional creation of jobs with various structures permits the expanding use case of Hive as a payment for services, in line with Hive’s function as a medium of exchange. Creating multiple types of jobs using a similar payment system provides an initial basis for what can be considered a fair payment, thus establishing Hive as a unit of account. The more jobs are created with Hive, the more we will validate its practical value. Once this happens, we will more readily be able to establish a consistent value of assets in terms of Hive, since it will be attached to work requirements; this will establish Hive’s store of value. Combining all of these factors will turn Hive into functional money.
An economy must be built upon functional money. This is why we must take steps to ensure that Hive can, indeed, function as intended. Let’s continue creating different types of jobs and establish Hive’s practical value with practical use cases.
Conclusion
In order to help the FreeCompliments and help continue the validation of Hive and HBD as valid forms of money, this is a job posting using HSBI with a different purpose and, thus, a different structure of payment. Let’s continue building both the community and bringing value to the Hive economy.
