Growing healthy carrots easily.

Hello Hivians, it's Monday and I hope you had a great weekend. Today we'll talk about horticulture again. One of the most important things when you have a vegetable garden is knowing how to combine plants so that they give the best possible yield. That's where crop associations come from. For centuries, gardeners have been testing the best possible associations and we are fortunate to be able to use them today.

There is a basic rule in crop associations. Do not combine the same type of plants. For example, do not grow tubers next to others. But like every rule, there are exceptions and today I would like to tell you about one of them.
When we grow carrots, many times after pampering them every day when we go to pick the fruit we find that they cannot be consumed because a worm has opened galleries to eat them before us. And that really annoys me.

You can use insecticides but since it is not healthy to eat chemicals, we can use a crop association that will do miracles with our carrots. If we plant garlic, onions or leeks between our rows of carrots, the smell they give off will scare away the carrot fly, which is responsible for laying the eggs from which the larvae emerge and then eat them.
This can also be used for our parsnip, turnip or radish crops.

Thank you very much for supporting my blog and I look forward to your comments.!
