My Journey Through the Graphite World - Sequoia

Today for my dear @freecompliments there is a new milestone in my publications because I was invited to become part of the Freecompliments community for which I am very grateful to the Dear @freecompliments.

We were talking about the beginning of my publications on the topic of drawing with pencils and not only.

For me this is an interesting topic since I have relatively recently begun my journey in the world of graphite and paper, but those steps in a new space for me can show some progress in this matter which can be useful for beginning artists, or people who are still afraid to pick up a pencil.

I am already over fifty and I have missed quite a lot of time in my life to improve in the business of drawing with graphite pencils, but one day a couple of years ago I wanted to pick up a pencil and draw a tree and this tree is a Sequoia.

I have long forgotten all the rules of perspective that they wanted to teach us at school but I coveted several points of perspective at once, depicting this giant tree.

Yes I made many mistakes today I could have made many changes correcting them but I value this drawing in the form in which it is because this is my first drawing with a pencil with a graphite rod.

The fact that I did not draw with pencils does not mean that I did not draw at all.

No, I was fond of drawing with a ballpoint pen and I have collected a considerable collection of such drawings but graphite is a different area of drawing a different perception of what you draw and how you do it.

There was a moment not long before I started drawing with graphite when I thought that monochrome drawings with a ballpoint pen lead me to some kind of dead end and I began to try drawing with multi-colored ballpoint pens but this was not what I was looking for either.

Graphite pencils were a real discovery for me and I am glad that I touched them.

At the time when I started drawing the sequoia I had only one pencil of HB hardness which somewhat limited my possibilities.

But nevertheless I tried to do something and there was something to think about.

Construction of perspective the structure of the tree and its texture how to depict the bark and how the shadow in the tunnel would look there were many things to think about it was very interesting.

As I already said there are a lot of mistakes here but Columbus also thought that he discovered India not America.

So, I started my publication from the starting point so that you my friends, could see my progress and not my desire to hook the viewer with better drawings and then jump off the locomotive lol.

It's funny, but the periodic power outages in our country pushed me to start my epic of drawing with pencils.

When you can't do anything on the computer you have to look for another occupation.

This is the case when a person benefits as a result of the loss of the benefits of civilization.

Have a great day everyone come visit and we will travel in the world of graphite together!
