My Journey Through the Graphite World - Noah saw the land.

Greetings to dreamers and those who make their dreams come true on this morning of a day that few people like because Monday no longer smells like a picnic.

But nevertheless Monday reminds us that we need to not only rest but also work.

It is good when work bears fruit.

I do not know how things were in the Old Testament times, at that time Noah did not look at the calendar but built his ark at the command of God.

Yes, he built a huge ship day after day everyone laughed at him but he continued to do his job not paying attention to the ridicule and except for faith in what God told him he had nothing only faith moved him.

I doubt that anyone today could take on such a task without special guarantees and skills.

And today for such construction you would need a lot of licenses and other permitting documentation just to start building a ship even a hundred times smaller than the ark.

Fortunately in order to draw the ark on paper and show the world how I saw the moment when Noah saw the land in the last days of the Great Flood I did not need any permission from those in power.

All I needed was to read the eighth chapter of the book of Genesis of the Old Testament take a pencil in my hands and start drawing what I imagined on a blank sheet of paper.

I am not a graduate of the Institute of Shipbuilding and I do not have a very good idea of the internal structure of the skeleton of the ship but I had to see in my mind the original design of the ark and depict it.

This was my first attempt to depict something like this with graphite pencils.

It was not easy to choose the angle from which we would look at the situation

I chose the option in which you can feel like a bird flying parallel to the floating ark.

It was not easy for me to work with the texture of each board that made up the hull of the ark but I remembered that I saw how at a private repair yard one guy was sanding the bottom of a pleasure yacht it was a colossal job and I thought that I could handle it and just went ahead.

I drew it in one gulp like a traveler in the desert who is thirsty and suddenly he saw a source of clean water and greedily began to drink cool water.

This drawing is very different from what I drew before because in it in addition to my imagination there is my faith.
