Backcountry Cross Country Skiing With Quill Dog

Well, not many photos have been taken lately with the Canon 5DSR. Although things still look beautiful this time of year when the snow starts melting fast, it isn't always photogenic. I've been outside a ton lately with Quill dog. I've had my Canon camera with me in the backpack. But I just haven't been able to find many scenes that would look great as big prints on a wall.

Not a problem, I have been able to take full advantage of the conditions by using my new backcountry cross country skis. As I said in a previous post, I am a brand new beginner. Really, now I am a somewhat experienced beginner. Quill and I have been getting out about every other day since the skis were purchased a few weeks ago. Between having an initial lesson and watching many YouTube videos on the subject, my skills are getting a lot better. Trial and error helps too, the school of hard knocks... We've even gotten to the point where Quill is comfortable doing a bit of skijorning. He doesn't pull much but when he does, it's a blast!

If you ever get a chance to try cross country skiing, I would highly recommend it. Snowboarding was always my thing in the past but this is a great way to get away from the ski hill crowds and enjoy the snow in solitude. I swear I will post some new landscape photos soon, but for now, here's some Quill dog photos shot during our recent adventures.
