I went with the lower cost dealer's random pick 1/4 oz gold sovereign coin, the Black Bull of Clarence from the Tudor Beasts collection is what arrived in the mail.

The Black Bull of Clarence

During the fifteenth century, Henry VIII had the Black Bull of Clarence flank the Moat Bridge that led into Hampton Court Palace. Bearing the Tudor Rose, it was created to symbolize Henry VII's marriage to Elizabeth of York, and the union of their York and Lancaster Houses, to form the House of Tudor, after the House of Lancaster had overcame the House of York, ending the War of the Roses.

Royal Mint's Tudor Beasts

This 1/4 oz 9999 fine gold 2023 Black Bull of Clarence coin is a part of Royal Mint's Tudor Beasts coin collection. Henry VIII had many symbolic beasts of power lining the Moat Bridge, including the White Greyhound of Richmond, the Lion of England, the Yale of Beaufort, the Tudor Dragon, the Seymour Panther, the Seymour Unicorn, the Royal Dragon, the Queen's Lion, the Queen's Panther, and this Black Bull of Clarence.

The front side of this coin features the Black Bull of Clarence, holding a shield with the Tudor Rose on the front of it, all on top of a cloud-like looking micro-dot background. Along the Upper curve of the coin is the text "BULL OF CLARENCE 1/4oz FINE GOLD 999.9", along the bottom curve is the year of mint "2023".

The back side of the coin has a portrait of King Charles III, looking to the left, this 2023 coin being the first Black Bull of Clarence with Charles, this portrait of him by Martin Jennings. Along the curve of the coin is the text "CHARLES III D G REX F D 25 POUNDS". "D G REX F D" stands for the Latin phrase "Dei Gratia Rex Fidei Defensor", which means "by the Grace of God, Defender of the Faith".

My first coin in the Royal Mint's Tudor Beasts collection, this Black Bull of Clarence is a fine 1/4 ounce of gold for the stack.
