Merlin the magician

Merlin the magician is a part of the King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table legend, he was an advisor to King Uther Pendragon, and eventually an advisor to King Uther's son King Arthur. He kept Arthur safe until it was time for him to claim his seat as King at the Round Table, after pulling the sword from the stone. A sorcerer and a prophet, Merlin has also been linked with Myrddin in the Welsh tradition, Merlin's recognition is on par with King Arthur's.

The front side of the coin features Merlin casting a spell with his outstretched hand, an owl perched on his shoulder. He holds a staff in his right hand, a crescent moon on his headband. Clouds, Camelot, and the moon are in the background, his cloak cuff is decorated with suns, stars, and moons. Along the top curve of the coin is the text "MERLIN 1OZ FINE SILVER 999 2023".

The back side of the coin has the head of King Charles III, he became King of England on September 8, 2022, this coin is from 2023.

Along the outer curve of the coin backside is the text "CHARLES III" followed by "D G REX F D", which stands for the Latin phrase "Dei Gratia Rex Fidei Defensor", which translates to "by the Grace of God, Defender of the Faith". This text is followed by the denomination of "2 POUNDS".

I have the 2023 King Arthur 1oz Silver coin to pair up with this Merlin. I'll have to keep watch for the Lady Guenivere of this collection, fine silver coins for the stack.
