I picked up this 1oz silver coin a few weeks back, featuring a Caribbean Reef Octopus for Grenada - from Scottsdale Mint.
Grenada Octopus Silver Coin
Another fine silver coin from Scottsdale Arizona, this one for Grenada, an island in the Eastern Caribbean sea. A mint coin with the shrink wrap.
Caribbean Reef Octopus
This 1oz coin celebrates the octopus, one of the most intelligent and cunning invertebrates. Their problem solving and shape shifting can enable them to escape captivity, they have specialized cells that can change color to match their surroundings for camouflage purposes, and they can even change the texture of their skin to more effectively blend in (Source).
The Octopus Side of the coin depicts the reef octopus moving along the ocean floor. The submarine volcano named "Kick 'Em Jenny", and it's thermal vent bubbles are in the background. Along the top curve of the coin is the text "GRENADA", with "2020" just below it. Along the bottom curve of the coin is the text "CARIBBEAN REEF OCTOPUS".
Queen Side
The Queen Side has Queen Elizabeth II, looking to the right, flanked by two branches. The top curve has the text "EASTERN CARIBBEAN CENTRAL BANK", the lower curve of the coin has the text "1OZ .999 SILVER QUEEN ELIZABETH II TWO DOLLARS".
Another fine silver coin for the seaworthy stack, the Grenada Caribbean Reef Octopus. A bit of a premium on them where I currently get the Scottsdale Mint coins, but I've been enjoying their quality and themes.
