It's Difficult To Imagine Today
Silver per ounce is artificially deflated in value. We are supposed to believe that a one ounce of pure silver is worth about the price of a couple of large pizzas or a few subs from a sub shop. Yet it was just a few dozen decades ago, a couple of DIME'S worth of silver (that is the silver contained in a dime) could purchase a bunch of those sandwiches!
Imagine, purchasing a pizza with three quarters! Three SILVER quarters, that is.
How many pizzas?
Ok, let's math. So today's silver value for three quarters is just shy of $13
Shown in my little bag is 20 oz pure silver, so about the same as 37 silver Washington quarters, or $9.25.
Wow, my weighty pouch of silver is the same as $9.25 of loose change in 1964! If people wanted to pass wealth down to their children, all they had to do is fill as many mason jars with silver change as they could. Even better if they were FRESH uncirculated from the bank.
If that were the case, no one would be purchasing bars like these, as nice as they are.
