Recently I found an interesting silver bullion at eBay, the 1/2 oz Silver grizzly bear from the Canadian Royal Mint from 2014. It is my first 1/2 oz and I found it interesting about the size. It isn't small like the 1/4 coins, but also not so big compared with the 1 oz. It is part of the Oh! Canada series that happened between 2013-2014. There are some other cool animals in this series like orca and beaver. The original price from the Royal Canadian Mint was $39.95 without the shipping costs, and in the end, I paid 38.75$ with the shipping included, which was around $26 before the shipping. It was the first time that I bought from this seller and I also bought yesterday another silver bullion that I wanted. He looks pretty aggressive in his selling, I started to follow the coin because I saw that he already reduced from the original price. After that, he offered a new discount, 1 or 2 dollars I don't remember and I accepted. He also did that for other coins that I followed even that in the end I didn't buy, if I could I would buy all of them. Interesting that he lives in another city 2 two-hour drive from here. He chose to send me using the Canada Post Express and it arrived the day after. I know that it is a safer method, but I would accept also paying less for the mail in a simpler way. Why I bought it? It is animal-themed and an important animal in Canada in addition the price caught me.
Grizzly bears also known as a subspecies of the brown bear are found in the mountains in western Canada together with the black bears. Different from black bears, grizzly bears are less introverted when facing humans so the encounter can be fatal. Recently the Royal Canadian Mint released another grizzly bear bullion, a more limited mint with 6,000 only. In the case of my bullion to compare, the mintage is about 40,000. However, it is a 1oz coin and the silver version costs $139.95, you can buy for sure 3 other 1oz silver coins that are more common to find.
