πŸŒ†The Epic Vegas Silver Haul + 'The King'🎲

image.png

24+ ounces (over half a frig'n kilo!) of pure silver, a silver and gold gilded piece (not shown as it may become a gift) and even a vial with .1 ounces of gold! What the fuck!!!! I was thinking maybe I'd come home with about 10, but no, that coin and metals show got me all hot and bothered and my tongue wanted to taste everything in sight. So, let's start there.

The Reason for the Season

Numismatics is the collection or study of currency including but not entirely limited to coins, tokens, paper money, metals and related objects. To my knowledge, @summertooth has been trying to organize a Las Vegas meeting of the stackers since before I even knew him. This year, it finally happened and that event, was an epic new chapter in my stacking journey.

That was from the first day I attended. I introduced myself to Pit Bullion and felt like a kid in a candy store and wanted to buy every piece I saw. We chuckled about Steemit days and the birth of Hive, I got the skinny on some Vegas shit and learned some history about his silver journey. I even went all stupid and got his autograph on one of the certs. He tried to make it to the party @thedamus had, but fuck, it's Vegas man. A 3.5 oz Pit head, a 2 oz Metals Mafia bar and a 3 oz Pit Bullion bar. Was feeling right after those pickups.

The Glitter Bomb

On Friday night, after my experience with my first ever silver show - which @silverd510 (who is my new silver mentor) tells me, was rather small compared to some of the ones he's been to - @thedamus had a party in his suite. All 7 of us were there throwing back a few of these and those when all of the sudden, @dfinney pulls out what has been referred to as 'glitter bombs'.

The glitter bomb included a ton of little goodies and trinkets and I love @dfinney for this one, because it gave me some extra neat things to give the girls I hadn't even thought of. She even included a fun game with these scratch off tickets for us to win a bonus prize! @brian.rrr was the lucky one there.

I was actually one of the few that proudly carried my glitter bomb across the streets of Vegas. By myself. I figured if anyone wanted to give me shit in the mood I was in? It would have started with a, "What, are you jealous you didn't get one?" and probably ended with them having a mouthful of glitter bag and me maybe in jail. I got a picture of everything after I finally got home and my favorite thing in the sack of glittery goodies I think, was the tiny slot machine me and Dam's oldest boy were playing with. It was so cute. The theme of the entire thing was obviously silver and gold, including some Silver Patron and Bicardi Gold! Well played Lemon-Drop, well played. Here's some more pictures of the thoughtful things inside:

The Yahtzee King

image.pngimage.png

While @summertooth and I took pictures of each other taking pictures of each other, @thedamus handed a gift to @dfinney after the glitter bomb. @summertooth also handed out some neat little things called 'Red Deer Dollars' which maybe he can tell you about their origins because I fuckin' forgot. All of this was leading up to what Vegas was built upon. The gamble.

@thedamus requested that everyone bring at least one ounce of silver to the party. I was under the impression we would be playing some kind of card game, but instead, he opted for a game of Yahtzee! @silverd510 and @summertooth explained the rules to everyone while @thedamus created a makeshift scorecard for us. Everyone anted for the game.

image.pngimage.png

There was a 40g bag of mini Pit Bullion poker chips, 4 silver rounds - a 2018 NIUE Storm Trooper, a 2015 Phil Harmoniker, a 2012 Perth Mint Colorized Kangaroo, and a 2020 Samoa Silver Serpent (Scottsdale Mint), .1 ounces of gold and my personal favorite of the antes - a 1 oz silver bullet. Everyone's eyes were wide at the prize and anticipated beginning the game. We rolled to see who went first and I won the toss. After everyone finished rolling for spots, we began an absolute epic game of Yahtzee.

I threw the first 5 of a kind by rolling into it on 6's after a few turns. Then @fat-elvis decided he wanted that pile of silver and gold too, and really bad. So, he rolled a Yahtzee and a couple turns later, he threw a second Yahtzee on two rolls and snatched up another 100 points to add to his score! He was yammering on about something to do with science. It always wins. So I took note of this 'science' he kept speaking on.

A few turns later, I rolled another Yahtzee and figured 'it's a game now'. Things were looking grim for others playing and then, to beat all, and I've only seen this one other time my entire life and that was my 7 or 8 year old little brother 30 years ago, @thedamus did something remarkable. He had a crappy throw his first time around so picked up all the dice and then on his second throw - rolled a frig'n Yahtzee! All 5 dice popped up the same. Was awesome. Which, kept his hopes for the loot alive in grand fashion.

Then I remembered something about science and how Yahtzees are what wins the game. So, that's all I was going for toward the end as spaces became limited on the scorecard. With 3 left - 4's, 6's and Chance - I threw another one. 4's this time, which gave me 250 points on 5 of a kind alone and 3 fucking Yahtzees in a single game. @fat-elvis tried the next 3 turns to get one but could only muster a 4 of a kind. It was then, I was crowned the Yahtzee King and pushed a pile of precious metals. I tried to do a thing where we placed and had @brian.rrr, our scorekeeper, add all the totals and I was gonna have people pick from the pile based on their score but - that's not the stacker way. I got all that beautiful fuckin' shit. Definitely. Not. Complaining.

Funny little sidenote. After my heavily lit and twisted self got back to The Venetian, I remembered I had a pocketful of silver. I emptied it out on the table and reveled at its glorious luster. I also felt something else in my pocket as I did that. I was all, "what the fuck is that"? At some point, I somehow managed to slip some chapstick in my pocket - because Lemon-Drop added a tube in the bags. I was about to toss it over to the pile of things to go home when I realized - holy shit! This is gold! I totally forgot that was even in the pile of silver and almost chucked it!🀣

Numismatics Day 2

I'm not entirely sure how much time everyone spent at this show individually, but I was in and out of there multiple times equivocating a rough total of about 5 hours. There was just so much to drool over, it was nuts! Some people were there to buy, some people were there to trade, and some even made out pretty well like @thedamus and sold off some metal.

I had no idea what I wanted, but I did know it was going to be in bar form. Boom Boom already swiped the titties off the table in the form of a gorgeous Marylin Monroe. So, I didn't get any of those. There was one that had a little nipple, but just didn't quite fit into the rest of my stack for some reason. Maybe because it was political thing talking about some Trump 2024 or some shit. I don't do politics. Silver? Hell ya. But not politics.

At the same table that @fat-elvis snatched up the boobs, I saw this very intriguing 100g bar. It looked crisp, clean and kept calling me back to it. I continued to roam a bit and saw some Englehards and Silver Townes, even some cool Fleur De Lis bars, but kept coming back to this one. It's minted by Geiger, which D says (after I bought it), is the new premium hotness since Englehard is no longer in production. I gave myself a pat on the back after hearing that I chose well. 😎

Dinner Time!

This was when @silverd510, @summertooth and myself, decided to hand out our goodies. Before we were seated, @silverd510 pulls out a bag and let everyone pick something out of it. Inside, were some closed black velvet sacks with various things in them. I pulled out this gorgeous 'Nautical Ounce' and immediately thought of @kerrislravenhill. She has a thing for shiny ships and the origins of real pirates in general.

I was next to hand some things out, and brought just enough too! I threw some shiny gold bags in peoples' hands which contained a silver 'card' and a Silver Shield 'Piece of Eight' (which bears some very sentimental value in my stakkin as a whole). But what was even more fucking awesome?

I personally did not get myself a silver card. As much as I had wanted one, I figured it was better to give than to receive. Something that this whole SGS clan embodies very well. After winning raffles and having extra pieces sent to me and finally falling in love with the atmosphere (thanks to @thedamus - which we will go over in a subsequent post), a rather quirky coincidental thing happened.

@summertooth and I must have been on the same page because I got handed a Silver card! Holy fuckin' bouncing titties Robin! My face just grew a Cheshire Cat smile and knowing great minds think alike, threw a hug on that boy. Check it out:

Yes, I have a black card membership tooπŸ˜‰. She's purdy, right? I've been wanting some kind of pocket silver for awile that I would actually remember to take with me and this is just perfect! I have come home with more than I could possibly have imagined. A shit ton (to me) of silver, some fuckin' gold and priceless memories. I've learned, it's just what we do. REMEMBER TO BE YOU! I always am, even when my tongue is so hard from all the porn it hurts my teeth.
