Ever since I found out the Germania Mint started a Valkyrie series, I decided to collect them. Germania makes a high quality product, so you know you're getting a piece that will grow in value. They're also low mintage, which enhances the collectibility aspect.
Obverse
This side features Solveig, the sun goddess, who is tasked with supporting the bravest warriors who fall in battle. She's depicted wielding an axe while standing next to her companion, which is a might bear. (Source)
Reverse
On the reverse we have the Germania Mint's iconic double-headed eagle on the right, and Solveig's besr on the left. Between the two icons is a shield. Below that is the denomination "5 Marks."
Specifications
I paid $37.50 for this, which is to be expected for something made by Germania mint. It's also limited to 25,000 pieces. I think the true value of this will be realized once the set has ended and is no longer in production. This is one of the few series I actually collect, because Germania just does such a great job with the details and quality control. If you come across one at a good price, don't hesitate to buy it!
