Testing StealthEX.io to trade HIVE to BUSD

StealthEx.io has HIVE listed... it appears to be a swap site similar to SimpleSwap.io or maybe even Blocktrades.us and a few others.

I'm just doing some research on the site and thought I'd share some findings. They reached out to us and we have mentioned to them it would be amazing to also have HBD.

There will be more news about using StealthEx.io in the near future but I see no reason to do a test of it right now and share with you all the results.

  • No sign in or KYC
  • Transactions have to be above $100 for most transactions it seems
  • Transactions can be shared via link (https://stealthex.io/?from=hive&to=busd&amount=400)
  • They say there is no limit to how much you trade (but i guess it would impact order books if you do quite a lot)
  • They interact with BSC via at least BUSD which is good enough for me
  • Looks like you can get a few tokens with a Credit Card (Hive is not one of those... yet.)

PRICE COMPARISONS

What you'll see below is kind of a wild story... prices are moving so fast that a site like CoinGecko is already pretty far behind. The third image shows Bittrex order book which is saying .265 but you can see it's easily in the .28 range at the exact moment i did the refresh on all 3 sites.

image.png
In the end the StealthEx price seems reasonable but they also don't tell you which exchange they are planning on using and they can't of course guarantee you the price until the transaction is officially set in motion and they receive your hive. Or vice versa

image.png
It's pretty common for Korean based exchanges to have a higher price and higher volume specially on days when things are pumping... but they also don't allow American residents to use their service.

image.png
Bittrex is the only American exchange that offers HBD and HIVE tokens.

BSC BENEFIT

It's certainly a huge benefit you can interact with a BSC bep20 like BUSD so you can trade into a decentralized exchange and move out to other things.

THE PROCESS

I already did a test from BUSD to HIVE and it was successful but i didn't keep track of it for a posting... so i'm now going the other direction and sharing it with you.

SEND TO

CONFIRMATION

EXCHANGE
image.png
This is where you get the info of where to send it... aka looks like a Binance wallet address which makes sense because i'm doing BUSD which is easiest to handle on a Binance.com website (which I don't have access to because I live in the US).

And right at this moment CoinGecko (sometimes delayed) says Binance is .2819 to $0.2847/hive (but I can't see their exact order books so that's just the last trade. we assume my 400 hive isn't gonna overwhelm the system)

Started the transfer of Hive at 5:47pm
9-10 minutes later the page updated automatically

FINISH
image.png
It seems the price updated to 113 from 109 which is always good news
Now 5:56pm I am awaiting the BUSD in my wallet

However StealthEx.io doesn't seem to update the website after this point... so I just have to keep tracking my Metamask wallet to see if the BUSD has arrived.

REALIZATION:
I kept looking at my metamask wallet for a transaction... and it never showed up on ACTIVITY on that wallet. But it the reality is that it was transferred quite fast and I should have been paying attention to the BUSD increasing which it did. Officially it arrive at 5:53pm

TOTAL TIME: 6 Minutes

image.png

I was actually really concerned by my perception it was taking a long time and I actually messaged support and they sent me the link to the BSCSCAN ... It would be nice if they provided that link in that final screen.

THE FINAL PRICE

113.05 BUSD / 400 Hive = .282625
If you go back up I was expecting.2727 and they exceeded it by 3% probably the orders in the market just jumped right at the perfect time. Maybe it was just partly luck.
The reality is that I checked right before I did the order and Coingecko said Binance.com was at .2819 ... therefore perhaps that's the best number to go off of.

Sometimes it's hard to identify what fee you're paying if they can do a good job getting you a better price than maybe you can get yourself.

Does quantity purchased impact price a lot?

In this particular case at this particular moment it does not appear so.

500 Hive = .280604
1000 Hive = .280604
5000 Hive = .2781360
10,000 Hive = .278065
50,000 Hive = .27747102
100,000 Hive = .276287

That represents only a 1.5% price drop between 500 Hive and 100k Hive. That's pretty impressive from my point of view. I'm guessing it's the actual price drop in the order book on Binance.com (which I can't personally use anyway as an American)

SAFETY AND TRUST

I have been looking around to see what others are saying and if they have had problems in the past. Seems like there are a lot of similar websites as the concept is pretty straight forward.

What I have seen is that many people just don't like the concept of trusting an anonymous company at all and the fact it goes through centralized exchanges and that they don't get to see the process after you send the tokens, seems like those folks will never be satisfied with a system like this.

What I like most about it is that it acts somewhat like a bridge where you can take an token from one blockchain and move it into a token of another blockchain. The anonymity is a nice perk and I guess not showing the full process is part of that.

I guess what you most want to see is a lack of users saying and proving that the company took money from them without giving anything in return. I haven't seen that mentioned anywhere.

The reality is they have been around for a few years and they have Hive and both transactions I did were a solid success.

ANYONE ELSE?

If anyone else uses the system let us know about your experience in the comments.
