El arte y yo tenemos una relación bonita desde que era una niña. He dado una vuelta por varias de sus formas: música, pintura, escritura, literatura, fotografía, manualidades, entre muchos otros. Pero sin duda al que siempre vuelvo es al dibujo. Adoro dibujar, aunque por falta de práctica y consistencia no soy la mejor la verdad es que disfruto muchísimo hacerlo. Me desconecta totalmente del mundo y me hace sentir libre, sin ataduras ni preocupaciones.
Art and I have a beautiful relationship since I was a child. I have taken a tour through out many of its forms: music, painting, writing, literature, photography, handcrafts, among many others. But without a doubt the one I always come back to is drawing. I love drawing, although due to lack of practice and consistency I'm not the best, the truth is that I really enjoy doing it. It totally disconnects me from the world and makes me feel free, without ties or worries.
Por eso la arte terapia me parece de las mejores técnicas que existen para drenar muchas cosas y también relajarme. Y gracias a esta iniciativa puedo mostrar un poquito de lo que me hace feliz. Así que hoy les traigo una pequeña mandala que hice y que quiero compartir con ustedes, así como el proceso para hacerla ✨
That is why art therapy seems to me to be one of the best techniques that exist to drain many things and also relax. And thanks to this initiative I can show a little of what makes me happy. So today I bring you a small mandala that I made and that I want to share with you, as well as the process to make it ✨

Lápiz o portaminas
Borrador
Lapicero negro
Marcador negro punta fina

Ok, en primer lugar opté por hacer algo de lo que siempre termino riéndome: líneas guía. Y te preguntarás ¿por qué se ríe? Pues porque rara vez las sigo 😅. Siempre termino saliéndome por alguna razón. Pero para personas más estructuradas que yo pueden empezar por esas líneas. Yo hice una especie de cruz con la línea vertical más alargada y está en el centro de la página.
Ok, first of all I decided to do something that I always end up laughing about: guide lines. And you will wonder why does she laughs? Well, because I rarely follow them 😅. I always end up going out of them for some reason. But for more structured people than me, they can start along those lines. I made a kind of cross with the longest vertical line and it is in the center of the page.
Luego donde ambas líneas convergen dibujé con mi portaminas (puedes hacerlo a lápiz) un círculo hecho de otro pequeños círculos y una luna, todo esto son bocetos. Luego al círculo le agregué unos pétalos.
Then where both lines converge I drew with my pencil a circle made of other small circles and a moon, these are all sketches. Then I added some petals.

Después a esos pétalos iniciales les agregué otros más, delgados en comparación. Y después fui agregando pequeños detalles como puntos y círculos, para ir decorando. La idea es formar una flor detrás de la luna y los detalles le darán el aspecto de mandala.
Finalmente completé los pétalos y quedó de esta forma✨
After those initial petals I added others, thiner in comparison. And then I was adding small details such as dots and circles to decorate. The idea is to form a flower behind the moon and the details will give it the mandala look.
Finally I completed the petals and it turned out like this✨

Luego desde el pétalo más grande que queda justo al centro en la parte de arriba le fui agregando más para hacer una especie de ornamento decorándolo con más detalles pequeños como ven en las fotos.
After that, from the largest petal that remains right in the center at the top I added more to make a kind of ornament, decorating it with more small details as you can see in the pics.

¿Recuerdan que les dije que no soy buena para seguir líneas guías? Pues no miento, tuve que borrar😂. Después de eso seguí con el ornamento pero esta vez en la parte de abajo, siguiendo más o menos el mismo proceso: dibujar más pétalos y decorarlo con detalles.
Remember I told you I'm not good at following guidelines? Well I'm not lying, I had to erase a few😂. After that, I continued with the ornament but this time at the bottom, following the same process, sort of: draw more petals and decorate it with details.

Entonces con el boceto ya hecho comencé a remarcar el dibujo con el marcador negro. Para un mejor acabado le agregué también más detalles como estas sombras que hice con lapicero. Para eso utilicé la técnica del puntillismo, donde marcaba pequeños puntos en cada pétalo donde quería que hubiera sombra. Tal que así:
So with the sketch already done I began to remark the drawing with the black marker. For a better finish I also added more details like these shadows that I made with a pencil. For that I used the pointillism technique, where I marked small dots on each petal where I wanted there to be shadow. Like so:

Una vez hecho esto, comencé a rellenar algunos círculos y espacios en blanco con el marcador negro, también remarqué algunas líneas de los pétalos más grandes para que se vieran más gruesas e hicieran contraste con las otras. Por último agregué tres flechas al ornamento inferior y este es el resultado final:
Once this was done, I started to fill in some circles and white spaces with the black marker, I also outlined some lines of the larger petals so they would look thicker and add contrast with the others. Finally I added three arrows to the lower ornament and this is the final result:
Realmente disfruté mucho hacer esta mandala, fue mi primera vez haciendo este tipo de dibujo. Me distraje un montón y me gustó el resultado final (aunque sé que no es perfecta). La verdad hacer detalles pequeños me gusta bastante por lo concentrado que debes estar.
I really enjoyed doing this mandala, it was my first time doing this type of drawing. I got very distracted and I liked the end result (even though I know it's not perfect). I really like doing small details because of how focused you must be.
Espero que a ustedes también les guste y se animen a dibujar estos diseños. Pueden incluso agregarle color al final, cada quien puede hacer su propia versión😉
