No sé si a algunos les ha pasado que en sus trabajos le dicen "Que joven eres para ser..." (pueden agregar cualquier profesión) mientras estás haciendo tu trabajo, ¿Que sienten ustedes?
Hello Hive friends! I don't know if it has happened to some that in their jobs they say "How young are you to be ..." (you can add any profession) while you are doing your job, what do you feel?
Bueno en mi situación es mi día a día cuando me encuentro trabajando, a veces lo dicen de buena manera y en otras ocasiones no tanto. No falta un paciente que me mire y me diga Dra pero eres muy joven para ser Doctora, en seguida les respondo, tengo 26 años, en ese momento hay un silencio incómodo y sigo trabajando. Pues si aparento menos años de los que tengo pero al punto que quiero llegar, ¿cuál es el problema de serlo?
Well in my situation it is my day to day when I am working, sometimes they say it in a good way and at other times not so much. There is no lack of a patient who looks at me and says Dra but you are too young to be a Doctor, I immediately answer them, I am 26 years old, at that moment there is an uncomfortable silence and I continue working. Well, if I look younger than I am but to the point I want to get to, what is the problem with being?
Sabemos que la experiencia hace al profesional, pero a veces pienso que ciertas personas no le dan oportunidad para mostrar su potencial por el simple hecho de ser jóvenes. Solo digo que como sociedad deberíamos apoyar y dar seguridad a las nuevas generaciones sin necesidad de subestimarlos por la edad.
We know that experience makes the professional, but sometimes I think that certain people do not give them the opportunity to show their potential simply because they are young. I'm just saying that as a society we should support and give security to the new generations without having to underestimate them due to age.
Las veces que me han dicho esto solo en algunas ocasiones lo expresan como admiración y en otras no tanto, tal vez de una manera poco despectiva.
The times that they have told me this, they only express it on some occasions as admiration and on others not so much, perhaps in a slightly derogatory way.
El objetivo de esto es que la edad no debe de ser un impedimento para ejercer como profesional, debemos abrir nuestra mente un poco y verán como los jóvenes nos pueden llegar a sorprender con sus capacidades porque también les tomo años en llegar a dónde se encuentran, desempeñando el trabajo.
The objective of this is that age should not be an impediment to practice as a professional, we must open our minds a little and they will see how young people can surprise us with their abilities because it also took them years to get to where they are, doing the job.
Así que mi recomendación es dar comentarios positivos, recordar que los profesionales jóvenes nos esforzarnos por dar lo mejor de si mismos para ofrecer un trabajo de calidad al público.
Y en lo personal, como médico estudio cada día más para que mis pacientes se sientan seguros y ofrecerles calidad de vida y un diagnóstico certero.
No nos dejemos llevar por las apariencias
So my recommendation is to give positive comments, to remember that young professionals strive to give the best of themselves to offer quality work to the public. And personally, as a doctor I study more every day so that my patients feel safe and offer them quality of life and an accurate diagnosis. Let's not get carried away by appearances
