My weekdays are as uncertain as my weekends. I have had weekends planned for just me and myself, all spent at a client’s house, and I have had days when my family members showed up and we had nice times together. I would really love my weekend to be calm and peaceful, a time to reflect on what the new week should look like. Sometimes my wish is granted, and other times it turns the other way. For example, I planned to have a restful weekend, but on getting to my apartment on Friday, my neighbors had a party to which they invited me. I had no choice but to show up, even as tired as I was. As of then, I never knew I was going to write about it! Aside from these necessary celebrations here and there, I still have a lot to achieve. No matter how much I crave a peaceful and restful weekend, I may need to postpone my cravings till God knows when! Before you pity me, you may want to consider ‘the when’ because not only God knows, I plan it too!
I make sure I get what I want at least once every six months. I have a place quite far from my apartment where I sleep like a baby. It’s not much, but just a room in one of my mentors’ houses, no one can ever guess I’ll be there! And even if they do, you can be sure they won’t see me. There is a need to periodically get away from all the noise of this world, and I think weekends are those days to spend time with your family, rest, and occasionally have your lone time! You may not always have the time for all on the list I just laid out, but you can plan on having them once in a while.
